Scarborough Fair is organic and Fairtrade

by Domestic-warriorComment Published at 18:2718:275 comments5 comments43 Visits43 VisitsReport

I have noticed shopping that there is a lot more fairtrade products in the supermarket.  I've always been conscious of organic and get it when i can, but have found the coffee rather expensive.  Last time i looked Coles had a couple of Fairtrade products (prices through the roof) now there is probably about six to choose from.  I'm sure it depends which area you are in but i have bought this one Scarborough Fair dark roast, Fairtrade, Organic, Arabica coffee.  It cost about $6.00 for a 200g pack and can be used for plunger, filter and expresso...too easy!!

Scarborough Fair is a NZ company, and you can get their products here in Australia at Woolies and Coles, and online through Amazon USA.

I haven't tried the coffee yet but...... i think i will do that right now.......!

FYI They also make some great teas - not sure if they're in the supermarket as I buy online, but they make a great green tea (and blends) and a really good black tea.  I have to say that in the last year I have seen fair trade making far more of an entrance in the supermarket for coffee - even Aldi has one!  For tea and chocolate, you still need to have a look around though...

I buy Nerada tea and because it is Australian grown i sort of guessed it would be eithical as well as pesticide free...

Planet Organic make a good range of teas (i like their green tea) too, which are readily available in the supermarket as well.  The also do other products such as spices.

That's great news, I really think stores should push the products regardless of the price.  Some people don't buy them simply because they aren't aware they're readily available.

Awesome I will look for it next time I venture into the supermarket jungle... Even better; ONLINE!   (Gotta love those NZ products).

Yeah, i was thinking the same.  One thing about the homeland they always seem to be in front of the eight ball when it comes to 'green' and ethical products.
