Does anyone have any favorites or advice regarding stroller systems or strollers for newborns? This little one will be my first and I am a little overwhelmed by all the stuff out there.

I love bertini prams!!  they are fantastic for handle movement, wheel alignment, room - i have quite often heard people refer to them as the rollsroyce of prams!!!  They are so easy to steer and get bub around in - i won't use anything else!!

strollers

I know what you mean! When I was pregnant with my son, I was totally overwhelmed too. But then sites like babiesrus (used to be with amazon) had informative articles on what the difference is between the different strollers.

My hubby and I went with a Graco Metrolite travel system (don't think they have this particular model anymore though). The stroller is easy to collapse and fold and has a big basket underneath. It's easy to maneuver. It came with an infant carseat and a carseat base. The carseat allows for you to get your baby out of the car and into the stroller without waking. It has a 5 pt harness system and so does the stroller.

The carseat has a 20 lb limit, which for my son meant he only used it for 4 months. But in that time I find it to be a great stroller system! It's a big looking stroller but I never had trouble with taking it to doctors offices (even ones that have tight spots).

Re: strollers
This is the one we went with, and like you I think it will be outgrown at 4 mo. But it has been super easy to use and I have been able to carry the car seat around with the baby in it even though I am rather puny. Like you say, the stroller part is great. Large but easy to handle and manouver and fits perfectly in the back of our car.

I think that is the one we will end up with - I don't know if it is the same model, but it's the same idea and made by Graco. It seemed to make a lot more sense than some of the nifty looking but rather bulky ones they had alongside.
