I have joined this group a little prematurely!  

I currently live in the UK but an emmigrating to Australia with my partner of 9 years and son aged 7.  I will be living in the Adelaide area and would love to get in touch with new people as I will be pretty much alone when we get there!

I will be looking for Part-Time work (around school hours) so if anyone can help forward links put in a good word I would much appreciate it.  I have mainly been office based in jobs but will do anything.  I will be starting up a PartyLite business selling candles through PartyPlan as that is what I currently do in the UK.  

It is a big ask but if anyone would like to help me launch my business in Australia by having a fun night with friends and family I will be your friend forever :) lol!

I will be arriving in your beautiful country in January 2010 so party bookings for February would be a great help!

Okay, I live in the Riverland in South Australia. My name is Rita, I have a hubby Barry and a 16 month old dog called Scruffy.

We have been married for 6 years ( 2nd time for both of us) and been together for 11 years.We go ballroom dancing, and I collect teddybears and the genie lamps ( ones you rub for a genie..no luck yet though!)

well iam new to this great site and iam enjoying it very much .iam a single mum with a 18yr old boy and a 16 yr old girl .ive been by myself for 15 years now  bringing up my kids .

 I am a newcomer to this wonderful site and still trying to navigate my way!  I am an "older mother" to non-identical twin girls, now aged 2 and a bit.  Although I adore them and could spend all day staring at them, I am finding the transition from being a well-paid 7 and a half hour day worker to an un-paid 24 hour a day worker a bit of a challenge, especially since I have no experience or skills for my new job!! But yes I love it most of the time and I, like others, enjoy spending the odd free hour on the internet, picking up tips from other mothers and just connecting with the outside world.

I live in semi-rural Western Australia, just outside of Perth. The girls and I love to spend time pottering in the (large) garden, feeding our unwanted weeds to the sheep next door and just enjoying the fresh air and usually lovely weather. Once a week my mum comes over and we hit the shops, and every now and then I see my friends, but it's a fairly isolated life otherwise. The girls enjoy going to daycare once in a while and I enjoy a few hours to myself, either cooking up a storm, doing officework or rushing madly around the supermarket and bank. Next week I've booked myself in for a massage, a good investment in my sanity I think.  Oh yes, I also have a wonderful and supportive husband and a beautiful, although clingy, poodle.

Hi all, Im a happy mother of 3 great kids Miss3, Miss2 and Little Man 9 weeks we live in Central VIC. We like Camping,  Going out to the park, Popcorn and doing family trips on weekends :) We love this website its great.

I'm trying to navigate this site but it has a lot to it.  Um, a little about me, I work part-time during school hours and have one day a week off to do the school-mum-helper thing at Miss5's school.  It's my first year as a school mum and it's heaps different to how I was expecting it to be.

I'm a single parent, by choice, and obviously happy with that.  Like to go on little day trips in the car to places we don't get to or haven't been before.  We enjoy camping and we're going on a holiday to Far North Qld later in the year, stopping at Balgal Beach to camp for a night, staying 2 nights at Mission Beach, spending time at Malanda, having a picnic at Millaa Millaa, all the way up to the Daintree.  We've been around South-East Qld and Central Qld so we need to do the top end of the state now.

We're a vegetarian family, except for my brother Miss 5 calls a "chook eater" hahaha.  We're ovo-vegetarian, my mum's ovo-lacto vegetarian, my older brother is vegan and as strict as can be in today's world, considering our car tyres contain gelatine with no alternatives.  We're also a Fair Trade family. 

Miss 5 and I both do scrapbooking, both do gymnastics, both do swimming, and she does AFL while I sit on the side and watch, take photos and drink coffee in the take-away cup and chat with the other mums.

I have a musician brother.  He's lead singer and does rhythm guitar for a band and is a solo artist as well.  I'm his manager.  Basically all that means is that he emails through his work roster 2 weeks in advance (how his work operates) and I book gigs for him working around work times.  If gigs are booked far enough in advance he can arrange his work times around that, but needs to give minimum 4 weeks notice to do that.  Between his band earning $650/gig between them, and him earning $300/gig on his own, work is really to keep him busy between gigs more than for money.

In other areas, I'm involved in politics, coach a sport and am Administrator on a site.  All in all, life is pretty busy and it's full of fun and laughter.  I'm just your average run of the mill mother trying to do the best a mother can do.  Hope to get to know you all better.

They do indeed call him big bro - his very little sisters that he spends a lot of time looking after when his mum is working that is. I call him my baby though. He's not really my baby, he's not even a baby anymore, he's 18 years old and is not related to me in any way at all, but he's still my baby. I 'adopted' him into my family, and he calls me 'mum'. One of his little sisters goes to school with Aidan and they're friends. He's cute too, but girls, don't bother hitting on him, you'd be wasting your time cause he's not that way inclined. He's great to share make-up and hair products with though!

I loves him and it's my fault he's here. Pick on him as much as you like, just be nice about it. You're not allowed to be nasty and mean to him, that's my job! Hehehehe!
