Hi from Queensland

Hi all,

My name's Justina. I live on the Sunshne Coast with my beautiful daughters, aged 8 and 6, and fiance. I'm 27 - ugh feel old already, just had a birthday, plus am a little hungover from a Christmas BBQ we had yesterday and am studying education to teach yr 4 - 9 (im not brave, just stupid .

I am divorced and this is the first year without my girls for Christmas *gulp* hence the early Christmas BBQ. Luckily, after all the initial horribleness, now we all get along as well as divorced couples with partners can and even hang out together occasionally voluntarily. The distance might have something to do with our amicable-ness so I guess thats a good thing.

Well enough rambling from me. Looking forward to meeting you guys

Re: Hi from Queensland

Hi from NSW,

We are coming to the Sunshine Coast in a few months. It's great you are studying education it's very worthwhile. My Dad was a music teacher. I have a degree in Applied Science that I want to use to interpret and educate people about nature. My little darling Natasha is 19 months old and lights my path in life with her love. Good to meet you,

Rejen

Hi from Queensland

My name is Naya and I'm 34 years old. I had my first child in September 2005. My husband, daughter and I live in QLD Australia on the Fraser Coast. I plan to homeschool my daughter and hope to meet some other homeschooling parents to exchange ideas and advice with.

I'm a writer and have recently published two books. The first one is called The Force Within, which is about how the Star Wars movies influenced me spiritually as a child. The other is called You Don't Have To Take It! A Kid's Guide to Understanding & Preventing Child Abuse. I wrote that one because there is so much information for adults regarding child abuse, but it seems as though no one has thought to teach kids how to recognize whether or not they or a friend is being abused, what they can do about it, who they can ask for help, and what may happen when abuse is reported. It's very difficult for an adult to recognize whether a child is being abused and even harder to prove it, but I believe if kids are informed they will have the power to put a stop to it themselves.

Hi from sunny Brisbane

Hi,

My name is Mandy and I am 41 years old.  I have been married for EXACTLY 14 years - it's my wedding anniversary today!  I'm really proud to have made it this far.  It's not been without its share of hardships, but we understand each other well enough to make it work.  We are very different, but we have the same view on things that count.

I have two fantastic, but sometimes frustrating children.  I have a soon-to-be 12 year old (and don't you forget it!) daughter, and a fun-loving yet sensitive 9 year old son.

I'm trying like millions of other mums to juggle work and motherhood, sometimes brilliantly, and sometimes dismally! I think all mums live in a constant state of guilt, just differing degrees.

I have been working part time for just over 5 years, and have just applied for my first full time job since becoming a mum.  Here comes the guilt again!  Shouldn't I be spending my time with my kids? But the extra income will help pay for school fees etc. I find out about my job in the next few days.  What a scary thought - I take my hat off to all mums who work full time, and the single mum who work full time.  You girls make me feel so inadequate sometimes.!  You are amazing!

I live in Brisbane and love to travel.  I haven't done too much yet, but I work in the travel industry, so I hope to do much more in the future.

Look forward to meeting some other working mothers.
