For mothers of Boys.. I have a question...

by cassaustinComment Published at 14:5414:5410 comments10 comments150 Visits150 VisitsReport

This is a strange sort of Q for me to be asking. I feel like i am betraying my boy somehow, but i gotta know LOL...

The past 3 mornings, when i have changed Austin's nappy, he has had a baby erection...  Im not too sure if this is normal or what... I also dont know whether i should be putting the nappy back on straight away, or leaving it off for a while and dodging incase he pees on me...

He doesnt seem worried by it, just tries to play with it (as usual)

What i want to know, is if it is normal, and does anyone know why baby's get erections???

Thanks xoxox

Yeah my son gets erections, it was weird at first seeing it on a baby lol but I get used to it now and just put his diaper back on. I have never seen it associated with peeing though, he has only actually peed once when having his diaper on and that was on my hubby

I freaked out with my first when it happened. Babies can't have errections.

Now it is just normal well when you get to the 3rd. It is hilarious though.

It's very normal, it happened to both my boys all the time. I just did my best to tuck it back down and put the nappy back on.

Totally normal, having three boys i should know   And it seems that they get  them from quite an early age too, so i would worry about it.  As Teisha has said just tuck it down and put the nappy back on.  It's quite normal for them to fiddle with it too and then get an erection, which i'm sure they find rather clever!!

This is totally normal Cass. Best thing to do is to put the nappy back on so you don't get wet, LOL, and make sure his penis is pointing down so he doesn't pee out the top of it. Both my boys still get little erections - the oldest is now 3 and will complain that his "doodle is stuck" and insist I adjust his jocks for him...when he says this I have found that he has a little erection. Normal boys things I think.

Hi, its totally normal hon, with all of my 5 boys this happened too....when they where babies, espically in the morning when they where busting to go toilet.....yes l did make the mistake with my first and l left the nappy off....just say l got alittle wet  he got me. l just learnt to ignore it and put a nappy back on...just make sure he is in his nappy or he will wet upwards.
