Ok, I can see not much has been added since my last post lol. So, I've collected a few more tidbits to share. Here goes:
- Leonardo Da Vinci invented the scissors
- Greece's national anthem consists of a total of 158 four line verses.
- When you lick a stamp, you consume approx one-tenth of a calorie.
- A shark is the only fish that can blink with both eyes
- The laryngeal prominence is more commonly known as the adams apple
- It was quite common for the men of Ancient Greece to excercise in public - naked! (the olympics itself used to be a men-only occasion and the contestants were completely naked)
- The largest muscle in the human body is the buttock muscle ("Gluteus Maximus)
- The statue of Liberty's nose is 1.48 M in length
- A sphygmomanometer measures blood pressure.
- Men are four times more likely to be struck by lightening than women!
- The movie "Psycho" was the first Hollywood film to show a toilet flushing.
- Your heart rate can rise as much as 30% during a yawn.
- A baseballer by the name of Jim Wohlford was once quoted as saying, "Ninety percent of the game is half mental" !!!! Now, how does that work??? lol
