World Breastfeeding Week is to get the message out about the importance of breastfeeding, and hopefully encourage more women to stick with it for longer. The more people know about it, and the more people in society they see doing it, hopefully the more people will start breastfeeding for longer. Not nearly enough babies are being breastfed and this contributes to all sorts of illnesses including diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.
