Talking with his mouth full

by cassaustinComment Published at 23:5723:5710 comments10 comments48 Visits48 VisitsReport
I know that discovering his voice is a fun thing for my boy, but is it really necessary to talk while he has a mouthful of boob? He has decided that he will talk, laugh, grunt and groan all while he is eating. He quite often will stop, look up at me, smile, and then attack me like i was the one taking it away! Oh this is all at the same time as kicking and grabbing at my boob, shirt or hand...whichever is closest of course.  Does anyone else's baby feel the need to communicate whilst eating???

Oh yes, the vocal demon at feed time! lol.  I put it down to mine telling me I wasn't quick enough, or that it wasn't the right flavour! lol.  I took to feeding her laying on my side, that way, the kicks were less effective! lol.

I hope he gets his priorities right for you soon!

I do feed him on my side most times anyway because it is too hot to feed him so close to me, the problem is that he is just long enough now to kick me where my ceserean scar is. It feels like he can grip his toes to it and pull sometimes!!

Ah well, i suppose i should enjoy it... Wont be long and he'll be all grown up and mummy's boobs will be yukky!!

I miss those days... both of mine did funny little things like that. In fact, Bella will still try to carry on a conversation with me when she's meant to be breastfeeding. My favourite was the looking up and smiling then attacking the my boob again. Gosh, gets me all misty!

Re: Talking with his mouth full
mine smiles at me if she understands anything funny's up. But the most annoying thing at the moment is the tendency to grab the other nipple when I'm feeding her at night. I was just thinking last night how I could do with one of Madonna's cone bras! Instead I end up sleeping with one hand cupped over the unused one. Most of the time if she gets annoying I dump her and tell her "no mummy milk when you do that!" but at night it's not so easy, especially as she's coughing at the moment and last night I lost count of how many times she woke up!

Ah the joys of breastfeeding! LOL! I'm affraid both my boys did this - actually one still does it at 10 months! I also get kicked, my face and hair pulled at and he tries to wrestle my arms with his feet like a little monkey! Wouldn't it be lovely to have a quiet feed again!

yes my son does that too and sometimes his father takes it upon himself to tickle him while he's feeding! doesn't make me very happy. ive tried to get him to behave but it just doesnt happen sometimes but most times he'll feed properly but if he doesnt i unlatch him and cover up tell him no more your too busy playing he gets up set then feeds properly

I tried unlatching him. He just did the same thing again. I guess it's just the newest game he has discovered. lol
