Is there any chocolate?

by HarrisonsMommyComment Published at 22:5122:513 comments3 comments17 Visits17 VisitsReport

Tammy, you have been around doing this for a while.  Is there any chocolate to eat or cook with that doesn't have the warning?  Have yet to come across any.  How frustrating is that!

Re: Is there any chocolate?

YES THERE ARE:

1) we found (especially having a husband that is a pastry cook ...) that LIBER'S SEMI SWEET CHOCOLATE & BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE are the best for cooking. we get them only in Coles Bondai Sydney or in the Jewish grocery of Bondai. This Chocolate is imported from New York. I will take photos later and publish them here. it is a great dark chock (can also be eaten as is). 400 gram (huge) cost approx $7 but it is good and we don't have much choice.

2. these are no nut products sold usually in K-Mart or Target

3. lots of Betty Crocker products (mix to make cookies, choc & vanilla frosting etc) are nut free. Can find them in most supermarkets.

4. TWIX choc bar is free of nuts

5. KINDER CHOCOLATE BARS & SURPRISE EGGS rae good also

6. AERO choc by Nestle is free from nuts cause it's produced in England.

but again - always read the labels before you buy. I always do although I buy them frequently.

I will look in the pantry to see if I have more...

Re: Is there any chocolate?

Thank you so much.  Will see if I can find Liber's Chocolates in Perth.  Have found some kosher grocers but will have to go in to see if they sell it.  But at least it is a starting point.

I had stopped looking at chocolate bars because they all said may contain and it was just too discouraging.

Yay, thanks for the suggestions
