Silly ?

by HarrisonsMommyComment Published at 08:2508:253 comments3 comments18 Visits18 VisitsReport

When they say tree nuts, that isn't peanuts is it?  Peanuts are grown in the ground and are usually in a category all their own.  Honestly havent' done the research to clarify that...just thought of it

And have found all but the cooking chocolate...will find it though...am searching!  Tammy, will let you know when I go shopping so you can fill me in.

Thanks-Angela

Re: Silly ?

Peanuts are actually in the pea family.  Though for allergy sake they put them into the group of tree nuts, like almonds because they tend to cause the same severity in reactions as well as if you are allergic to peanuts, then you are most likey going to be allergic to tree nuts as well.  And vice versa.  It's weird I know, but it's really best to avoid all just the same.

Re: Silly ?

Well then for packaging of allergens on products, they sometimes say tree nuts and other times say tree nuts and peanuts.  So does that mean i have to keep away from tree nuts too?  I know Harrison isn't allergic to them and in fact eats them all the time.  Loves cashews.  He was tested for tree nuts and had no reaction at all.

Oi, if that is the case, I am just going to pull my hair out.  Poor love.

HOLD YOUR HAIR AND PUT IT BACK!

Hello! Haven't been here for such a long time! sooooory! been very busy and actually still am...

with the peanuts and nuts - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - ask Harrison's Doctor. He/she is the only one to tell you if you need or not to avoid tree nuts as well as the nuts. Gilad's Doc said to avoid the tree nuts because of cross contemination (ok - i no i misspelled it) but maybe in your case it's different. but the bottom line - ASK THE DOCTOR. that's their job.

and leave your hair where it is... :)
