thanks for joining girls .

i love weddings and some say i was born to either be a mother,a midwife or a wedding arranger.

i loveeeeeeeeeeeee weddings . its romance and commitment thats so appealing.

this time around i will have my nephew chris as one of the best men and hubbys best mate and my oldest son .

,who is turning 13.

and i will have 2 wedding ring boys 1 is my 9 year old and the other my 3 year old ,i already purchased the pillows instead of making them for $1 each.so cute .

then i ahve my flower girl my daughter her gown is $70 its dreamy.and abi my otehr daughter will also be a flower girl but she will be walking down the isle with my matrine of honour which is hubbys cousin but she is like a mum to me she is so niceeeeee.

i dont have a dad to walk me down the isle but iam asking a friend of the family that will be abis godfather charlie which was hubbys dads best mate .

i have 80 people invited but probably only 20 tops will turn up,including kids .may of you will get an invitation but afcourse maybe 1 or 2 will turn up as you all live to far from tassie .

i think the more then better.

i dont have a clue where to do the venue yet.its a bit hard to do it when you dont know who will turn up.my place isent that big and if i do it in the back yard iam afraid someone may destroy the food while iam gone .

any ideas?

Wedding on a budget....

by kseersComment Published at 19:0519:050 comments0 comments8 Visits8 VisitsReport

Well, DH & I have been married 13 years in January - you do the maths - yes, that means I was married at 21!  So, no huge budget....  WE had the wedding in a church that meant a lot to us (it just happens to be a historic, sandstone church) and my fil was the minister that married us!  The church was packed, which was lovely.  The car was a 1927 Austin, owned by the dad of one of the groomsman, and the bridal party travelled in our 1961 vw kombi.  My dress was bought at an op shop and fixed up (read modernised) by a friend of my mums - it was lace, which is SO not me!  But it was lovely nonetheless and it made mum happy!  My bridesmaids all wore dresses made by a friend of mine, with matching waistcoats for the men.  I had a page boy - my then 3 year old nephew - and he was sooo good.  The bridesmaids were all friends of mine (3 of them) and we had family participate in the service instead.

It really was a lovely day.  We had a morning wedding, followed by lunch at my husband's old school in the centre of Sydney.  We hired a simple caterer and my husband's photography teacher & her partner did the photographs - I think they were the most expensive part.  My husband's aunty did the flowers and they were beautiful and my mum's friend did the cake.  We were really blessed that we seemed to know so many people who were so good at what they do, and many of them did it for free! I think the whole wedding came in at less than $5000 - a 1/4 of the national average at the time!

AT the time I chafed at the budget and hated the interference from mothers (couldn't have a small evening wedding like I wanted, couldn't have arum lillies for flowers, mum picked the dress etc....) but I soon learned that the day was not the most important part - but our life together and having loving friends and family around us.  Having everyone involved made the day and made it really special.  So many people commented on how lovely it was and it has made really special memories for us all.  Will try and post some pics if I can find them....

Renewing my vowels in 2011

by FremantleDockerComment Published at 18:4218:420 comments0 comments10 Visits10 VisitsReport

Hi there everyone, and thankyou Libby for inviting me to this wonderful group. I'm sure i will love it heaps.

Well, as the title says, my husband and i will be renewing our wedding vowels in 2011 as that will be our 10 year mark. My 5 year old daughter will be flower girl, and my sister in law will be made of honour, and i will be having my niece and nephew again as page boy and flower girl, but don't know what they'll be called now as they're 12 who's the girl and the boy is 14, so it'll be great to look back on the photos from the new and old to see how much we have all changed.

This time around it'll be the way that my husband and i want it, as my other sister in law who was made of honour who we don't see anymore organised everything and i didn't have a say in what i wanted and she chose everything for the wedding.

To this day, i still haven't worn the dress or jacket that i wore on my wedding day back in 2001 as i don't like it, and only have ever looked at the wedding album no more than 10 times as i don't want to remember that day.

Anyways, thanks again Libby for inviting me to this group and i'm sure i'm going to love this group alot and you won't be able to get rid of me easily.

Kerri

here comes the bride

by libbylincolnComment Published at 18:1218:121 comments1 comments21 Visits21 VisitsReport

well i have had 2 weddings so far and iam planning my 3rd for march next year.

all to the same man .

the first wedding anything that could go wrong did go wwrong ,i was pregnant with baby 2 6 mths and i had to wear black cause at that time i did not have the money, i wanted a church wedding but the catholics wanted me to wait over 6 mths to be married but i went to an anglican church who was ok with me wanting to be married early ,the church cost me nothing  as it was donation only,so i donated $50 regardless.

then i rented a vampire outfit for hubby and 2 dresses vampire girls for me and the brides maid ,and i was done i did my own make up,cake and food preparations  it cost me $300 fo the whole thing  but my sister in laws husband had a fight with my husband and he got a black eye by the time he got to the church and he wouldent look at me when i was walking down the isle which made me think he did not want to marry me ,but as i was to find out it was more like he did not want me to find out what happen in case i stopped the wedding in go adn bash the guy that did it .

,the second wedding cost me under $500 it was in the backyard of my place ,again i did all decorations,i purchased an arch for $50 got a few roses made of plastic and decorated it ,i got a woman to do the ceremony she was a sweet heart and she cost me $150.i got a dress for $30,and that was it the rest was food and drinks ,but it got ruined because during the ceremony all i heard was talking from kids and some adults ...so rudeeeeeeeeee! so through out the recording all you can hear is talking ,so no now its third time lucky...in a church so i know there will be no talking .,my dress is $300 from ebay or oztion,my rings cost $20-$30 each,my boys suits $40 each,my tiara$20,my pearl necklace $20,the limo $100 per hour ,my church i dont know yet but shouldent be much if anything,my budget is under $2000 and ill make it to and as many of you can see in my profile the pictures of the stuff i get they are soooooooo nice .
