hi ! im not from the western suburbs but i grew up there  i went to willy high (williamstown)  . hopefully you will make friends in your area . did you try  finding a playgroup in your area? if you dont drive there should be one located conveniently either walking distance or public transport! i suggest you wait til after the holidays but a playgroup gives you the opportunity of getting to know the person before you embark on having coffee together. Also some of the councils (its a community service the name slips my mind at present) run like a creche once a week that allows the mother an hour or so to do a bit of shopping ect while little ones are taken care of. in exchange you give a small donation (what you can afford ) and once a month in return you give up four hours of your turn to assist with the creche. that way all parents get a chance to do things that normally would not be able to do under normal circumstance. eg banking  interviews  appointments ect cheers annie
