Janice would be proud and I am in shock! I bought my first Christmas gift!!!!! WOW! Usually this happens the week of. I don't get in the "mood" until then. I got one polo shirt for sil. Well, it is a start! I want to buy toys for the Grandkiddies : ) !!! So, five kiddies, their "others", relatives and a few others... hummmmm . Like i said, it's a wee, wee start!
Where is that Janice with her Christmas count down??? Get better Sweety, we need you to motivate us! How is everyone doing with their Christmas lists???
Well you're entitled! Other things going on! We need Janice back to countdown! Mine is totally focused on counting down to when my daughter comes home!
Uhoh, Christmas Shopping! I'm putting it off as long as possible this year and trying NOT to think about it as I usually have it all done by the end of October and IT'S NOVEMBER already - aaargh!
Ya gotta shake things up some times!!! Guess this is the year! It is hard when kiddies have so much! So how is it you are out of your usual routine? Hope you are not picking up anything!
No, the reason we are out of usual routine is that darned car is sucking up all the money so I'm trying to wait as long as I can. But car cost us £150 today and the same or more next week.... Think you know that feeling too?
Speaking of.... blasted thing needed repair last night !! So here we are, trip for parts, and flashlight in the drive trying to repair the &*^%$%^#@!!!!!! thing! If Hubby didn't repair we would be stuck to walking distance here and Canada is not set up at all for that!!! Nothing like that feeling when you see smoke coming up from the hood.... oh again! I feel for you, I really do!
Ohhh works of art! You ate them all!!!!!! Vicki ! How can we lure Janice back with an empty plate with a few crumbs??? Get your Hubby baking... could he make enough for us all???
Good on you Margy! I haven't gotten anything yet for Raiden, waiting until Friday when I have a bit of spare money. He is pretty spoilt though he has more toys than most 1 year olds. My mum (yeah we are on talking terms again after she reluctantly apologised - more like dad talked her into it lol but yeah) got me some clothes for Christmas and got Raiden a sandpit, some pjs, some new cot sheets, some bath toys, a ride on bike and some soft books for him to read.
Good grief, what is left? Raiden will for sure get something interesting that you pick. But what? Let me know what you think of!!! Regardless of why, good you and your Mom are at least trying! That is good news!
It's a Ben 10 watch that retails for like Aus $40 dollars I got it for $20 (good thing my son is 4 and quite read yet...HEHEHE!!!)
I'm getting AJ a game for her DS Lite so that leaves Nikki and Chomper!!!! plus my SIL kids and Hubby (aside from his usually Xmas pressie!!!!) I'll probably get him something fishing related. I'd love to buy him a boat but I'd have to rob a bank!!!!! Def not in my style of doing things!
I'm not really sure what to get Nikki (7yrs) and Chomper (13 mths). Nikki changes her mind all the time and as she has anaphylaxia it makes buying somethings even more difficult!!!!! She loves make up and stuff but some of it doesn't have the ingredients listed so I don't know if she can have it or not! As for Chomper, he's just at that awkard stage. Too young for older things and too old for baby things! It's worse because of all the warnings......this product is unsuitable for under 2 yrs old etc!!!!!! Certainly makes Xmas shopping more interesting!!!!!
OOooh! Ben 10 sounds like a prefect gift! There is so much for kiddies but you are so right about being age right! Would C like the thing I got for Sean ( 1 1/2) , he loves it! It is a tough ball with a handle, like an adult exercise ball. You can poke it and he use to squeal as it was like a huge balloon and now he can hop on it and bounce. Wears him out, errrr, good exercise I mean! What about a jewelery kit or a art kit for Nikki? I love all those creative kit things you can get for kiddies like the frames and things they can put together!!! Getting things for kiddies is the most fun! Won't comment on your Hubby, he is doing fine by Santa! LOL!!
Oh dear...Christmas shopping...we have started but with much resistance, reluctance and less forward momentum, lol! Miss A. has been talking about Christmas since the last one, she loves it, yes, I must confess, so do I. It will be double the fun this year with Master B., it will be fun to see how he reacts to it all.
Christmas Eve is my favourite...we will get up early to have breakfast with Santa, then deliver gifts, home for a special dinner...after which is a carol service at Church, which I so look forward to...Arianna loves to get dressed up for church...can't wait to see little man dressed up too...
I bet you have some great family traditions too...I love to hear how people spend their Christmas'...I love the family time and togetherness, the presents and things are a distant 2nd to family...
Hope you are doing well and that the flu is staying far away from you...
Hope that Janice is feeling much better and coming along well...tell her to not overdo it...lol!
What a beautiful family tradition you have going there! Do you think there will be photos of the kiddies??? It would be great to see! We have hopes of everyone being here. This is the first Christmas that one of our kiddies is living out of province. The focus has been on her coming HOME!!! And this year two Grandkiddies! I am soooo looking forward to it. I put up my carol bells and I bet the Grandkiddies will love them! LOL The other guys don't like them on that much! They are party poopers.
I'm a bit that way with Christmas presents too, but Michael liked the idea of Chrisco the other year, and so I have had to try to think a head to the next year with what my children would want and need THEN! Tis a challenge, but I try to thing of the stuff not as Christmas presents, but as just shopping, and it helps a wee bit!
Speaking of Christmas count downs, my oldest son has been doing THAT ever since the decorations came down last year!!!!!! We've been putting an ex in each day on the calendar for him, and the excitement is mounting, as our decorations come out on Dec 1st!
Sorry to interrupt, but don't you just love Chrisco! Never again do I have to worry about the chistmas food and how I'm gonna afford to pay for all the food and plus the christmas pressies!
It is new here but growing fast. I think it is brilliant, and you are right, a way to lessen stress. The cost is stressful, affording to even do a little is putting a lot of pressure on people here that can barely handle day to day things. The economic downturn is still hitting hard.
Yes! I undestand completely! When we first moved here, we were so broke we had to rely on Charity to get any sort of Christmassy what not happening, but the third year we discovered Chrisco, and our fears for food and that are non existant now!
Ahhh x- ing out a year to Christmas is so cute! That is excitement!!! I look so forward to the decorations!!! Oh, thinking about it is exciting!!! LOL! Chrisco has just started up here! So I do know what that is. It sounds like such a good idea to spread out the cost! Christmas is so neat with kiddies about!
True, but the difficult bit is the children are so young, and their tastes are still developing, so I could choose something I think they might like based on the info I have now, and it may be completely off base by the time Christmas gets here!
That being said my track record is probably, say 95% accurate.
Woooo! Great record! Yah that is tough. I just think the cost of Christmas is stressful, and planning ahead is a great way to relieve a bit and spread out the cost... too bad I haven't done that in the past! But then you so do need to be inspired!
ooohhh, tough when they get older! When one of my guys was 14 I went to the second hand shop and found a prefect suit for him! I was so happy! It was prefect and he was delighted. The suit was 10 $ and so I could get it cleaned and a new white shirt. The young guys always seem to like new games too but they are rather expensive for the systems aren't they Cazza?
Cool, wish i could buy clothes for brodie, he so fussy, have to take him with me, but then that ruins the surprise..
I have a nintendo wii on layby but that is a family pressie.. and brodie has a few games already,.,. I just going to get him to write a wish list for me ,.,.
The girls are getting cameras and scrapbooking stuff, as they love to scrapbook ..
Ohhh that sounds like a perfect Christmas!! I have played with wii and it is a riot! Yes, a wish list... I wish that everyone will be home with loved ones for Christmas. The scrapbooking supplies around these parts are endless! It must be huge!
I haven't got any pressies yet, I always have hope that I will start after july sometime but lots of birthdays to think of between then and xmas. I usually spend one whole day trying to get everything. I haven't even written my list yet!
What I have bought is the fruit mince for the pies!
Ahh Angie, too many haven't's! LOL!! I bet you manage every year! I worked like that too for years, I hope I haven't messed up my natural swing into Christmas!! Heavens! You know some things you just shouldn't change!!! LOL! Pies??? Ohhhh! See, an excellent start!
Well I thought seeing Janice isn't doing her Christmas count down that perhaps I should fill in???? hard shoes to try to fill. That is what panics me too Nell, need money. You know my son and my dil gave the most loving gifts last year, homemade candy and goodies!!! It was so special! From the heart and hand made and so, so good!!!
I'll try anything to get Janice back as long as she is well enough. Yes Marg, I know she likes chocolates and she can have some of my Christmas goodies in my lounge but not until Christmas, Mind you I will get something special for her first day back and I know there will be many pleased minti friends who are longing to hear from her
I know! I wonder when that day will be? Do not want her to come back before she is ready.... but I know tons of people will be soooo happy! We will have to get special goodies ready for sure!
Once she is feeling stronger and ready to come on to minti if i was her i would play on it a bit and say, " I will have to sit down quietly with minti, as that makes me feel better " and knowing Steve he will do all the household jobs and she can rest.
But we mustn't tell Steve our secrets, hope he doesn't read this LOL
Oooohhh! Dear Steve is a reader that is for sure but I think there is limited interest! LOL!!! I am sure looking forward to that first chat with my Nature Buddy! And I am sure Steve is helping to the best of his abilities....wonder what that is??? Heeeheeee
Marg I could write what I like on here my husband is a big reader and studier but he doesnt have any interest in the computer. Although in business he did all his estimates on them, now he is semi retired, he does not touch the computer, however if he did read it I never have any nasty things to say about him, he has been a wonderful husband
