Have any of you guys heard of Upromise? It's a great way to save for college without making much of an effort. You just register your credit cards, debit cards, and grocery/pharmacy cards and go on about your everyday shopping business. It's great, especially if you do a lot of online shopping.

We have been signed up with them for years. I can attest that it is legit and no one will run off with your credit card numbers. Unless you buy a car or house or something though, the savings add up pretty slowly and there wasn't enough in our accounts to make any difference for the first kid, so I'm not exactly sure how you access the money. (I think we have combined about $60). Still, it's a whole lot better than nothing!

We signed up with them within months after Fuller was born. We always try to use Exxon gas stations because if we have to pay more for gas these days, why not put some of that money in Fuller's account?

Absolutely, it's better than nothing! Plus, since gas prices is through the roof I feel better that I save some money when I go to Exxon. I save more in the holidays since Target and Walmart contributes to Upromise (through online shopping only).

I read that you withraw the money by writing the company a letter. Or if you have a 529 plan for saving for college, you can set up the money you save at Upromise to be transferred automatically to it.

Izzy, I was just thinking about this again the other day. I saw something about it at the super-market. I am going to check it out. I remember you mentioning it before. So cool.

Yes, it's easy to sign up! If you only use it to shop at Shutterfly, it'll be worth it.
