I should have expected it since my husband and I both work 40 hrs/week and I'm taking 8 hrs. of graduate classes. Needless to say, I'm having difficulty really setting aside time each day to spend focusing on Wesley. Take today for instance...we all woke up at 6:30 and were out the door by 7:20. I'm still in class and my husband has already put him to bed, so I saw my son less than an hour today. I do know that Anthony promised him they would ride bikes when they got home today and he did throw the football with him yesterday. Maybe I should just give myself a break and take the time where I can get it. I do know that I have paid more attention to what Wesley is saying instead of zoning out and just nodding along when I have a lot on my mind...and I have been more patient with him. So, this challenge has had some benefits for us. I do have plans to take off work and spend a fun day with Wesley on Friday (he's off for fall break) so maybe that will redeem me . |
