Australian Candle Laws

by ellosunshineComment Published at 19:0919:092 comments2 comments191 Visits191 VisitsReport
Hi, I was wondering if someone can give me an outline about Candle laws in Australia or show me a link or some info. As some of yous know I make and sell Gel Candles and I am always careful with what I put in them eg, non flammable embeds away from the wick. I usually only stick to glass, sand, rocks, shells and starfishes for my candles but if Im using any other material I would use a double glass system ( a glass within a glass, so the embeds are in the outer glass protected away from the actually candle). I do test my candles to see how they are if Im using a new glass or color/fragrance and I ALWAYS put a warning label sticker on the bottom on how to use the candles. Now what made me want to know more about the candle laws is can I be held responsible if someone does not use the candle properly or read the warning/burning instructions on the bottom. A couple of nights ago my hubby spoke to his mum who lives overseas and she said she burnt one of my candles (which I gave out as a bombonniere anniversary present to guests from our vow renewal ceremony back in Aug) and she said it made a big flame but luckily she exstinguished it in time to do any damage but she also mentioned that she had it continiously burning right down to the bottom and she did not read the warning label which clearly states not to burn right down and only 4 hours at a time and to discontinue burning once the gel reached 1cm above the bottom or an ornament (I only had sand, starfish and a shell in the small votive). My husband asked me what if someone sues us if that happened here, are we responsible for them not using commonsense and following the proper burning instructions? Should I add an extra little sheet for people to read first where they can actually see it in the box before they start burning? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Recipe Q

by blue-ravenComment Published at 21:2321:230 comments0 comments138 Visits138 VisitsReport

Does anyone have a recipe for slavakia wraps (lamb or beef  spiced meat ) served like fajita's or burito's but with sour cream as well as salad?

I haven't the time to go on quest (doing my best to redo my research essay) but I want something different for my kids and family from the mexican food. They use to make wraps of the world which were wonderful but they no longer have them. Everytime I mention the words fajita, burrito or taco I see them grimace.

Thanks girls I really appreciate it.

You can browse through this site and see if anything there helps...www.ehow.com/how_5089716_rid-mynah-birds.html

next replies::::

Hi there no not the right place to add this entry it should be in the NON parenting question and answers but for now that's o.k. you did apologise hehe

Firstly if they were nesting in my letterbox I would be so please as they talk beautifully when taught it is such a shame to get rid of them so you might not like what I am going to say hehe.....

How about getting another letter box and leaving the minors to nest in the one they claimed, Probably not what you wanted to hear.  by veejay

then from howdy::

  not that type of minor bird it is the indian minor birds but thanks anyway

my reply to this is ........ yes I was talking about the Indian myna bird and they are a nuisance in the older birds but if you get a young you can tame and teach to talk perfectly

The birds themselves they are trying to eradicate from some areas as they interfere with the native birds eg galahs and budgies and finches

This might look a bit funny but tried to place the Q&A in the right place for you

P.S. Would love a baby bird to raise but unfortunatly can't get then here

Cleaning help

by ellosunshineComment Published at 20:2820:282 comments2 comments72 Visits72 VisitsReport

Hi

Just wondering what is the best way to clean the inside of a stainless steel kettle? Normally I would boil my water before placing it in bottles and then in the fridge (mainly to get the tap/chlorine taste out) and I noticed that the water has been tasting weird so I thought it might of been the glass water bottles so I washed them and then I thought of having a look in the water jug and I noticed it had a build up of brown stuff (eww) So I tried wiping it a bit but there is still some stuff there. So I was wondering what is a non chemical way I can clean it?

Thanks

Anyone ran a 'market stall' before?

by ellosunshineComment Published at 01:2701:278 comments8 comments83 Visits83 VisitsReport

Hi

Well as some of yous know I have started to sell my Gel Candles and Gel ornaments (you can view them here on my FB store page). And now Im thinking of trying the local markets in maybe within the next 2-3 months or Jan next year.

I was wondering has anyone out there ran a market before? Do you have to have public liability insurance? I understand why you need it but what if I only want to try the market out just once or twice, just to see how I go? Is it all markets ask for it or only some? Is there any other tips you can suggest what I need to know in running a market?

Thanks

Transdermal pain patches

Has anyone used them? I've been prescribed Norspan 5mg that lasts one week.

Curious if anyone has used them and how they got on with them. I've never used them before. I've been given all the info on them but doesn't beat first hand information!!!

Thanks Raven
