seth's operation

Comment Published at 04:0104:015 comments5 comments90 Visits90 VisitsReport

well seth finally had his operation to get his teeth removed. what an emotional day. on wednesday morning we got up a 5: 45am to get ready. daddy was taking seth to the hospital and i was taking the girls to school(daycare). his operation was at 8:45am. we decided that i would be there as seth asked me that morning, so i daddy and seth got a taxi to the hospital and i ran around like a chook with its head cut off getting the girls ready and oh yeah, sebastian was going to auntys for the day, so i also had to drop him off. would u believe i actually made it to the hospital on time.

then they would only let one of us in to the theater room while he went off to sleep, so  i went, wow what an experience. they gased him and i was crying my eyes out. such an emotional moment. i left, they pulled his teeth, he woke up and was all fine. not what i was expecting from my sethie at all. he is such a sook when he is sick and he handled it like a champion. so now he has four front teeth missing till he is 8 or whenever those ones come through. my brave little boy.

Re: seth's operation

Don't feel bad-- those night bottles are sooo hard to take away.  I'm the biggest worry wort mom in the world, but always give in to my son at night and give him his bottle of milk.  He uses a "Nuby" cup with a valve so that it can't keep dripping in his mouth;  I'm hoping that will keep him from getting cavities.  He also wakes up and takes a sip, but doesn't sleep with it in his mouth.  I wonder if your child slept with the bottle in his mouth.  If only my son would just take a pacifier!

Sounds like you were all very brave - poor wee man!  Well the good part is, that you shared it with everyone, so it will save some other parents the same angst - well done.  I hope he is feeling well now, it can knock you around a bit going under, best wishes, Lui.
