FIJI & a bit of an update

Comment Published at 04:3504:356 comments6 comments27 Visits27 VisitsReport

 Hi all,

Just an update really... about a month ago we went to FIJI we stayed on Plantation island and had a ball and I really think H enjoyed himself to.

We went with all of my family my mum and dad, my 2 sisters and their families as well, all up there was 13 of us.

We spent most of the time swimming at either the pool or the beach.

We went on the Glass bottom boat, saw lots of fish.  I took time out and went to a local market on the other side of the island.

At night we had H baby sat by one of the locals (2nd last pic) Most of the time the kids went to an early dinner then went off to the kids club while we all ate in peace!  LOL  Henry loved being baby sat.

As you can see the weather was just perfect.  I got up in the morning and thought what will I wear today, oh yeah my swimmers.  Wore them all day until I got changed for dinner.    Hardly wore shoes at all.

It was so relaxing, every one had time out one way or another J went fishing, my B-I-L played golf, some went snorkling, and the girls had massages, or pedicures..  It was fantastic having family around even though sometimes they gave me the S**ts..  They were really good and took H for awhile so we could have some time out.   Like wise we did the same with their kids.

The funny part was on the way back from the island.  It was choppy and the boat was rocking hard. (fall of your seat type stuff) H was sitting on Daddys lap each bump he would say whoaaaaa  whoaaa  and then he started saying "no more boat"  he must have been feeling sick but at least he didn't vomit!!

Would we do it again Hell Yeah!

H has now turned two and had a lovely time.  we had a small party for him and we gave him a train table that he just loves he walks around it with his trains talking to himself.

H is loving childcare and I can barely say good bye to him now.  He is talking heaps and now says "Mine Mine" LOL we are trying to beak that habbit but I think it comes from childcare.

H has started swimming lessons the first day he cried as he wanted to get in by himself naked.  Needless to say we left with him crying and wondered if we should continue.  We did continue and the next lesson he spent 10min on the stairs in the water still wanting to be on his own.  He soon joined the class but didn't do everything that was asked of him.  He is getting there and we will continue to persist with it.

Hope everyone is well..........

My Holiday (pics)

Comment Published at 15:5215:5217 comments17 comments47 Visits47 VisitsReport

We had a great holiday left last Wednesday. Got to the Gold Coast and was met by my friend. H travelled well in the plane and slept for the decent, which we were worried about.

We checked in to our fab self contained unit, which was central to everything then picked up the hire car. That night we went out for dinner. It was half price if you ate b4 6.30pm, bargin.

Anyway that night I woke up and felt a little sick and then vomited. The next day I vomited about 3 more times, so spent the time moping around the unit while the others went to the beach.

H loves the beach, and had ball and the most funny thing was that the japenese tourists loved him as well. They were taking pics and holding his hand and playing with him.

We spent most of the time swimming, walking, and just relaxing. Went to Sea World, and also stumbled apon a market :). Not much to do when H sleeps most of the day from about 11.00 to 1.30pm.

I went to my 20year school reunion what a blast, we all ate and drank too much. It was just nice to see everybody.

The last day there we went to my friends place and had a BBQ. My friends 2 girls loved H and took very good care of him they are only 7 and 5 years old.

Oh, one things H loved to do was go on to the balcony and look down on the traffic, he could do that for hours.

Here is a collection of holiday pics....

The plan..

Comment Published at 19:2419:2410 comments10 comments43 Visits43 VisitsReport

This week has been hard and stressing for all of us....  H is teething and doesn't want to go to bed at the normal time of 7pm.  He will start off ok and sleep for say 20min then wake uncontrolably crying.  I think it is a combination of beeing over tired and daylight saving.

We have had to get him up and just let him try and settle himself.  He wonts to be held then dosen't, wont eat...  wont do anything.  So we just leave him with the telly on or we from a distance read to him.  He then plays for a bit then will go to bed with bottle.

Last night he wouldn't do that so we left him crying, then at 10.30pm we went to bed after the visiters had left, then I did the controlled crying.  Went in after 5min then after 10min.  I was going to go in after 15min but he fell asleep.

It is so heart breaking to hear him cry like that and it really stresses my partner out.  I can ignore it but he can't and gets worked up.  So then I need to try and destress the both of them.  We end up arguing, and I don't think it is healthy for our relationship.

The plan tonight is to put him to bed later start the bath, bottle and bed at about 8pm this will be 7pm pre daylight saving.   Give him nurofen b4 bed and if he crys do the controlled crying thing.

Tomorrow we will start this at 7.50pm and then the next night 7.40pm until we are at 7pm.  If this fails then I have some lavender oil that I will spray around his room and put a drop on the corner of his sheet.

Please pray for us and give us plenty of positive vibes that this will work 'cause we can't take it any more!

Oh thank you to Naomi for her wonderful peice of advice.  We will try it if all else fails.  It can't hurt.

mud pies.......

Comment Published at 22:1822:1815 comments15 comments54 Visits54 VisitsReport

Today to occupy our time H and I spent most of the time out side.  It was a glorious day.  We went out the back in our park area with the neighbours.   When they had to go H and I got in to the dirt and I put some water with it to make mud pies.  We both got very dirty.  I then decided it was time to be creative, I got some paper out and we did some hand prints etc...  Better with paint but when you don't have any mud will do LOL...

This is what H did..

Comment Published at 15:1415:1412 comments12 comments47 Visits47 VisitsReport

Please help I have lost my sanity and my sleep and I need to find them and get them back b4 something really goes wrong.

Hmmm  where did they go?  Well I remember somewhere between 12am and 2am they went missing.  Bubs was awake and I had to sleep in the spare room with him, but did he sleep?  NO!

So I am going to have to waste a beautiful sunny day with trying to get my sanity and sleep back, here's hoping that bubs sleeps well today.

There is a heaps of other things I would love to do like take bubs to the park and to make some salmon patties.

Well fingers crossed that they return sooner rather than later!

Love youse all have a great day!
