Oh what a night........Sorry its long

Comment Published at 18:2818:2810 comments10 comments58 Visits58 VisitsReport

Last night when we put bubs to bed it was 26 degrees in his room so my partner and I had a little arguement about what to dress him in as I thought it was going to be cold early morn.  I could hear DA say dress warmly cover lightly. (she said this in a Q I posted) So anyway we ended up putting a singlet and a jumpsuit that had short sleeves and short legs on.

Anyway I got   to bed a little later than the norm, I went at 10.  I was woken at 2.15am and that is when it started me not sleeping for hours.   It was  too early for bubs to be awake usually it is about 3 or 4.  So I got up put the dummy in.  He went to sleep for 15min so I then fed him.  When I changed the nappy I changed his suit to an all-in-one the temp had dropped to 21.

Yay, I thought he souldn't be awake until at least 6am.  Well he was makeing lots of little noises in his sleep.  I got worried thought he might be cooking, thought i've done the wrong thing,  he is going to boil.  I went in and undid the suit went back to bed by this time it is getting really late (or early depends on how you look at it).  I tried and tried to go to sleep but no I couldn't bubs was too noisy and I thought he is boiling.  I was thinking well we have a window open bubs dosen't.  We are dressing in nothing and have the doona on from the waist down.  Bubs has singlet and suit on.  My mind was racing was he going to fry?  better to be safer than sorry so i went in and changed his suite back to the old one.  What was I thinking I thought.  Bubs very nearly woke up in the process, phew he didn't.

Was I going to sleep this time I hope I was going to.  It was about 4am this time or there abouts.  I tried and treid with no luck.   bubs was still noisy so I thought could be wind as I couldn't burb him when I fed him.  I tried for 10min with no luck so I tried again with no luck.   Well lets hope it all passes and we all get some sleep.  I must have driffed off, I don't know how long.

I hear a squeal and run in put the dummy back in  didn't work so I got up and fed him and with that we all went back to sleep.  That was at about 5.30am so from 2.15 am to 5.30 I was awake and gees do I feel tired today.

In the morning he woke at 7 and I thought i'm not getting up my partner can do.  When I did get up 'cause he wasn't making any movement I hear Ange I'll get up so I slept until 8 and layed in until about 815. not much of a sleep in.  I'll have a arvo nap today.

I also think little man is teething as I can see little white lumps in his mouth and I can feel it to.  Poor little man!

Thanks for reading....

OH you poor thing. I know what it feels like when you just cant seem to turn your brain off! And the worry. I feel for you, poor poppet!
I hope you are having an afternoon nap as we speak!
With Caitlin we usually dress her with a singlet and long cotton PJs. Its slightly warm for when she goes to bed so I leave the window open and close it after she is asleep, your body temperature dropps when you sleep too, doesnt it? Or did I just make that one up?? She refuses to have a blanket on at all so this sustains her (in our house here in Brissie) all night.
Hope tonight brings a better sleep for you!

Not sure of the temp dropping when sleeping I think it does a little bit.  I can usually turn off but this time I was so worried he was going to boil.  Anyone for boiled baby for breakfast. PMSL ?  yeah we leave the window open until we go to bed too.

Hi
At night we dress Jalan in summer pjs now even though some mornings it gets down to 13 deg cel.
She has a sheet and a blanket on her bed that we can put over her if need be.
You will wake up if it gets cold enough to worry about.
If we put Jalans blankets on her she just crawls out in her sleep or throws them off if she gets hot.
As long as their chest is protected by clothes they will be pretty well ok.
It is when they get too hot that they get upset.  At that age they can pretty well regulate their own temp and will curl in a ball if they are cold.  Most times around 15 deg Jalan is still lying spread eagled across her bed.
By 13deg she tends to curl up a bit and if i wake up with the change of temp i throw her blanket back on her
We have it tucked in tightly down the bottom so she cannot slip underneath it
Being CF Jalans nose is often blocked so she sorta snores...she gets very noisy when she is sick lol
So much fun...thats why its called the joys of parenthood and why during the last few weeks or moths of pregnancy you don't sleep much getting ready for bub lol
Luv Deb

Noisy sleeper hey.  You want to hear ours.  She grunts, groans, snores, squeals and giggles in her sleep!

As for dressing bubs, you know they let us know if they are too hot or cold.  Go to bed and get some sleep!  I'll send you some match stix for your eyes! lol.
