Boy am I in trouble now!!

Comment Published at 21:2521:2519 comments19 comments37 Visits37 VisitsReport

Just thought I would have a quick look at Minti and Ebay, put bubs down in the lounge with toys (not his usual play area)  I was kinda keeping an eye on him then I look over he is near the telly wires, talk about freek out, I move him then OMG i hear a bang, quickly look over and bubs has moved a small side table and a cup that was on it fell to the floor and broke.  I freeked out again luckly it didn't hit him or break much just in two big peices.  There goes my fav coffee cup.

Now I am in trouble when my partner gets home for not watching bubs,  DAMN! minti, DAMN! Ebay, now what am I going to tell him.    *Sigh*

Re: Boy am I in trouble now!!

Hi

Why lie to your hubby.  This will only undermine your relationship in the future as he will not know whether you are lying to him or not and you will feel guilty as well.

Tell him the truth and then tell him watch bub for a few days by himself and see if he changes his tune.  See if your child gets a few bumps and bruises.

If he gets angry at you tell him that you are not going to tolerate his abuse becuase that is what it is

Things happen with kids.  Thats why they are called accidents.  You could have gone to the toilet or got a drink and the same thing could have happened.  We are not perfect and if you spent 100% of your time watching babies like a hawk they  would never learn to grow and explore and have a mind of their own.

These things happen deal with it and get over it til the next time lol....

Just my thoughts

Luv Deb

Re: Boy am I in trouble now!!

Thanks Deb,

In the end I told him half truth that I went off to do something and it happened.  He wasn't too mad about it.  I didn't tell him minti was calling.

It's all good now.

Re: Boy am I in trouble now!!

Angie can't beat Cazza's response, think that one is great. I undersatns about your favourite coffee cup, i'm abit like that. But don't be to hard on yourself you can't watch bub every second of the day....just as long as he wasn't hurt with the breakage.

Love Janice xxxx

Re: Boy am I in trouble now!!

PMSL - Sorry Angie, i know it's not funny, But Austin does the same! I only have the loungeroom for him to play in, so of course he is most interested in everything i wont let him touch. I have caught him just before he chews on wires, spews on remotes and pulls photo albums onto his head! LOL

Boys will be boys i guess. I can only imagine what it will be like when he is walking!

I'm with Cazza, the eye's in the back of the head part.   Cass xxooxx

Re: Boy am I in trouble now!!

Hi

Amazes me how parents make light f the kids pulling the telly over on top of themselves

There is a news article where a child did this and spent months in intensive care and now has brain damage for the rest of his life.

I know funniest home vidoe makes it look hillarious but this is a serious thing and all tv's should be secured

Wish i still had the link

Sorry

Luv Deb

Re: Boy am I in trouble now!!

True your right, but since I was told off the other day for not watching bubs almost do the exact same thing, hmm I'm not so sure my partner will be nice about it.

Re: Boy am I in trouble now!!

Hey kids will get into things and break them all the time I have 4 and we have atleast 2 cups broken a week lol.Do you really have to tell hubby no real drama just a broken cup.I know keeping things from your partner is not good but with little things like that and your child was not hurt ,no harm in not telling him well I think anyway.
