Oh Dear!! Valentines

Comment Published at 12:4612:4626 comments26 comments46 Visits46 VisitsReport

Usually we don't celebreate valentines day, 'cause my partners b'day is 2 day b4 it.  I usually get  a card for him and don't get anything in return.

Well this year, Oh dear, I got a box of chockies and didn't give anything in return.....  I feel really bad now!     I don't eat much choclate but he does.... anyway that is not the point... It was so lovely that he even thought about it and went out and got something.

I want to go out and get a card and something small but what????  or should I just leave it??  We're not really the romantic types and it is now hard with bubs.

Anyway just wanted to share that for valentines I got a box of choclates and didn't give anything in return and now I feel really bad.

Re: Oh Dear!! Valentines

I have the same problem with my hubby we don't celebrate valentines either but generally the run up to valentines day we both tell each other not to get anything but still worry if at the last minute one of us does get something and the other one doesn't, lol.  Luckily neither of us got anything this year so phew, I hate feeling guilty.  Sounds terrible not celebrating valentines day but I've never really liked it because I used to hate being the one who felt unloved because I didn't ever get a card,  I think we should be able to be love whenever, all year round if necessary.

How about a win/win situation... You get YOURSELF some nice lingerie, and HE gets to enjoy it.

Re: Oh Dear!! Valentines

That's lovely and i also got flowers and chocolates this morning!  Totally a shock for me as well.  But i am so jaded right now i'm not returning the favour.  I'm sure in the past i have made an effort where he hasn't so it is all fair in love and war!!!  Good to be spoilt, lap it up!

I would have loved flowers, but he hates them as they "just die anyway"  I think I will just lap it up

Re: Oh Dear!! Valentines

Well Cass, at least you got a text message..  means he is thinking of you.   Dinner is sounding like the only option, but I did a really nice dinner for his b'day 2 days ago.

Re: Oh Dear!! Valintines

This is the first time in a long time.  I usually don't get anything either, and the fact that I'm not in to choclates much.......  Its the thought that counts.

Maybe Simon will surprize you later to night  LOL  The day isn't over yet.

Re: Oh Dear!! Valintines

Dont worry too much about it esp if you normally get him a card and he doesnt get you anything. Suggest sharing the chocs after dinner, and try to have a romantic evening... if baby allows it of course! Em x PS you just reminded me i have to think of something inventive to give hubby tomorrow, its now 10pm shops shut!

Re: Oh Dear!! Valintines

Cook him a nice dinner tonight. It is what I am doing. We don't do a lot of romantic giving, but a nice meal, with a little extra effort put in, always goes down well. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach they say!

Re: Oh Dear!! Valintines

I was thinking that, but I said to him what do you want for dinner and he says tuna pie, how boring not very romantic at all since we have it at least once a week or every 2 weeks LOL.   he then said its my favourite.

Re: Oh Dear!! Valintines

Tuna pie can be romantic, if you put some candles on the table and not much lighting. It doesn't have to be cordon bleu cooking

Re: Oh Dear!! Valintines

We did the tuna pie and we had wine etc...  and I made a desert that he loves and then we had the choclates.  Not bad I reckon.  In fact it was very nice.
