We clean so they have a clean slate to make mess again.....  We really are special people to do that for our kids lol xx

yeah when my children were young they would put them away but one of my sil hasd a daughter after 3 boys so her daughter was a little younger than mine. they would come over on a friday night and she would want to play with my boys toys.

but she didnt want to play in their room she wanted them in the lounge room where her mummy was. anyway  they would leave very late friday night and of course they would leave the toys lying around for me to put away. so i would have to put all the toys away.

mind you  a lot of the toys she wouldnt play with she just wanted them there and then just bring more in. finally after having to stay up even later to put them away after a long day working then cooking and cleaning i discussed it with hubby. he told me to say something but then i pointed out it would be better coming from hm

sure enough the following week when she went to get more toys out hubby told his neice that unless she put away that toy she wasnt allowed to bring another toy out so she started putting them away

mind you my sil had dolls and other toys in her bedroom but had them on display and high up so she couldnt reach!!

so her house was always tidy!!! no wonder the little one wanted to play at our house.!!!

but another suggestion is to only have a few toys out if they are only little then rotate them so  they dont get bored that way you only have a few to tidy up  or as arna has suggested if you have a spare room have the toys in there on the floor and that way makes life much easier

I'm a clean freak, and always make my kids put their things away, and since they've got older, it's just a habit for them to put things away with out thinking, but with the youngest one, i have to remind her like a million times.

hehehe i completely understand!! I recon i have gotten more excercise picking up Austins toys this past month than i have in 10 years LOL

LOL Leave it for a few days and you will find out! It's because nobody else will do it! LOL Even having teenagers around the story is the same, though not quite the same mess! Housework never ends!

We have a room just for the our girls toys.  Guess what?  The toys stay in there or get taken away, and that room doesn't get tidied up at all! lol.  Every toy box they've had they've destroyed, so the toys are just on the floor now.

It is a never ending story cleaning up after our kids.

lol I often wondered the same thing, lexi has started leaving a trail of destruction after her just as Brad has started cleaning up after himself

Its a never ending story, I think we all need house elves like in Harry Potter.

My favorite, is I put all of Francis clothes away in his draws nicely folded.. When he cracks the shits because he does not want to go to sleep he just empties every draw and cupboard he has.. Oh what fun...

I often ask myself the why clean question all the time.

I wish I knew!! Frustrating isnt it!!

Thats why as soon as they're old enough, they can do it!!! Toys dissapear around here if they're on the floor for too long!!

OMG I'd love to know the answer to that one!!! I tend to clean only when G is at school... at least I get to appreciate it for a couple of hours..... then watch it all fall apart in bout 5 mins the moment she walks in the door!!! I'd love to be able to snap my fingers and watch the mess disappear!

yep and why do we wash up ? im just gonna have to wash up again next meal.. have thought about buying paper plates lol No not really but i hate repetative tasks they drive me nuts like folding....

i agree so much angie why do we bother i spent all day cleaning and both girls have messed it again sometimes i just wan t to sit and cry
