I love putting my son to bed

by ajv00Comment Published at 00:4700:478 comments8 comments20 Visits20 VisitsReport

No matter how tired I am.  I just love my son and I love putting him to bed.  My partner baths him, I dress him while he gets the bottle.  My son cries and cries and when I give the bottle to him it is our time and he looks at me with those blue/grey eyes of his, as if to say thanks mum you knew what I wanted.  He gets sleepy and I have to wake him to finish the bottle.  He dosen't always finish it!  After he is finished I put him on my shoulder to burp, he is asleep of course and this is when I really relish our time together.  I just hold him and breath in his smell, he rests his head on my shoulder and I'm in love.  After 5 or so minutes of cuddle I gently put him down to sleep.

I love putting my son to bed.

Minti Addiction

by ajv00Comment Published at 16:3316:338 comments8 comments24 Visits24 VisitsReport

I would like to confess that I have a minti addiction LOL......  Yes it is true I am addicted to Minti.

When my baby is asleep i jump on to the computer and almost always stay on until baby wakes up arghhhhhhhhh!!!!

Nothing gets done, nothing until the last minute when I look at my watch and then Oh Sh**T my partner will be home soon I better do the washing, the dishwasher needs unstacking, the floor needs sweeping etc.... The dinner, oh the dinner needs to get started.  But then I think of minti and all the sweet loving people on minti i think just one more look around and then I'll do it.  Some days he pulls into the driveway and I log of minti and jump up and look busy.

Oh lord some days I blame it on the baby and being so tired but really it is my MINTI ADDICTION.

I must say that I do go out and about etc... but when at home.........

SO EXCITED.... JUMPING FOR JOY

by ajv00Comment Published at 20:0720:0714 comments14 comments50 Visits50 VisitsReport

Hi all just had to blog this........ I'm so excited

Today I thought I would do a ring around of all the childcare place that I had bubs name down on (before he was born) and hassle them to see how the waiting list was going.

The first one I rang is the one we wanted to get in to.  So I asked about the waiting list and they said that they were going to do a ring around soon and I was next on the list.  I calmly said oh yes etc....  and she said We have Monday and Tuesday in Feb.  I said I'll take it.

I'm so excited about it... These days it is really hard to get into childcare. And pretty stressful with the wait etc...  Some one up above must be looking out for us.   I wonted March but there intake was for Jan and Feb.  Now all I have to do is tee up work.  Hoping they can give me the days I'm looking for.

Bubs is still going to be a bit young but for 2 days a week i think it should be fine and if we can afford it I will go back to work in March as planned and pratice with bubs at the childcare in Feb........

WHOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spelling

by ajv00Comment Published at 13:1713:173 comments3 comments22 Visits22 VisitsReport

today I was reading my son a simple book.  The word aeroplane  was there but it was spelt airplane.  Is this a typo or is this the way the Americans spell it.    The book I'm guessing is American 'cause the word subway was in there as well.

My guess is that it is the way Americans spell it.  Just thought that it was strange that's all.  This is not a dig at Americans and how they spell.  It is just different, and strange.

what is it with men???

by ajv00Comment Published at 13:1413:147 comments7 comments16 Visits16 VisitsReport

Well mine anyway.........

Hope you don't mind just going to have a bit of a vent/whinge.  Yesterday was my sleep in day did i get it? nooooooooo.  Why 'cause he didn't get up for bubs so I did.  That was late at 7.30am not the usual 7, but after getting up again and again over night I don't really class that as a sleep in..  He said that we would all have an outing and do the shopping (not that much fun)so I thought yeah I will get some other stuff done ie; a print out of a photo of bubs that mum wants.  Well when bubs went to bed he said that he would go.  I asked what about us.  He said too late then blah blah blah...  So I was really sh***y by this time.  And just went to bed.

Today the same thing we had a friend over last night and watched a movie instead of the election results so it was a late night.  Up and down most of the night with bubs so I get up this morning with him.  Partner says don't worry I'll get up did he?noooooooo  so I am really peeved.  He is up now but that dosn't help.

Oh well I may as well go to bed now.......   We are going out today to mums for lunch.. It's my sisters birthday.  It will be very noisy (4 kids I bubs and 8 adults) and we will all try to be sivel to each other.

Hope you all have a fantastic day and who you voted for won!!!

Take care - Angie   xxxooo

my little holiday is over.......

by ajv00Comment Published at 17:2817:2811 comments11 comments30 Visits30 VisitsReport

Well we went away and survived, don't know if I would do it again though....

I took so much stuff with me and hardly used any of it.  Well clothing wise that is.  The weather was really hot but not as hot as it was back home.  I took bubs to the beach once and cause the tide was out there was a little bit of water that was quite warm, he loved to have a splash in it...  but the sand... I hate sand.  It gets everywhere and in everything.

My sister had her kids with her a 4yr old and a 17mth old.  Don't get me wrong I love her kids but life revolves around them dosen't it?  I don't get along with my sister all that well so.. She had to do what she had to do with the kids and we just joined in.

First day we got there about lunch time.  2 hour trip and bubs sleept all the way.   We then went to the beach about 5 min walk from the house, later we went for a walk to the corner shop a 40 min round trip.

Next day my sister and kids went to a differnt beach and I met up with them later I opted out of going to the beach just thought bubs was too little for it.  The water would have been cold and he would have got sand everywhere and even eaten it.  So we met up with them  and had icecream and coffee. And did a bit of window shopping.  Bubs got so over tired that he slept in the car (15min) and then 1 1/2 hours back home.

Today packed up early and left by 9.30 my sister got on her high horse saying she was leaving my 9etc..  so then left us too it.  Don't get me wrong I had heaps of fun and it was nice to get away, and my sister and I were sivel to each other.

Going away like that you do realise that you miss that extra pair of hands (help) that you get at home.  Bath time I had to be super organised.  My sister couldn't help as she was getting her kids ready for bed at the same time.

Well, I am now looking forward to seeing my partner.  I sure did miss him.  Can't wait till he gets home from work probably about 5ish tonight.  Cooking a roast chicken for dinner. Yummy.

Well better unpack         Take care

A little holiday.......

by ajv00Comment Published at 01:1101:119 comments9 comments14 Visits14 VisitsReport

I'm very excited but a little nervous.   My sister has asked me to go down for 2 nights to her in-laws beach house.   To me it will be a challenge to go by myself with bubs.  It means trying to pack everything and remember everything and trying to find my way down there.

It isgoing to be very hot here we have air con but down at the veach house it will be a little cooler.

Even though my sister will be there with her 2 kids I just hope that I can cope.  It is quite nerve racking but I'm sure I am worrying for nothings and everything will go smoothly.  I'm worried about my sisters kids waking bubs in the night etc...  oh well

It is for 2 nights but if it is cooler on Tuesday arvo with hopefully a cool change coming through then I might come home.

Another thing is that I am going to miss my partner like crazy, I feel bad leaving him at home and him having to go to work. .........   It's going to kill me.......

Well better start packing..

Take care

Dear Santa ..... An email I received.

by ajv00Comment Published at 15:5915:5917 comments17 comments49 Visits49 VisitsReport
  Dear Santa,

I've been a good mum all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor, sold sixty-two cases of choc.bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:

I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any colour, except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze; but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the lolly aisle in the grocery store.

I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy.

If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, 'Yes, Mummy' to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting 'Don't eat in the living room' and 'Take your hands off your brother,' because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only be heard by the dog.

If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare tomato sauce a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in and dry off so you don't catch cold.

Help yourself to cookies on the table but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.

Yours Always, MUM...!

P.S. One more thing...you can cancel all my requests if you can keep my children happy, healthy and always believing.

*Santa has asked that this gets passed on to all the mummies you know*

Oh what a night........Sorry its long

by ajv00Comment Published at 18:2818:2810 comments10 comments46 Visits46 VisitsReport

Last night when we put bubs to bed it was 26 degrees in his room so my partner and I had a little arguement about what to dress him in as I thought it was going to be cold early morn.  I could hear DA say dress warmly cover lightly. (she said this in a Q I posted) So anyway we ended up putting a singlet and a jumpsuit that had short sleeves and short legs on.

Anyway I got   to bed a little later than the norm, I went at 10.  I was woken at 2.15am and that is when it started me not sleeping for hours.   It was  too early for bubs to be awake usually it is about 3 or 4.  So I got up put the dummy in.  He went to sleep for 15min so I then fed him.  When I changed the nappy I changed his suit to an all-in-one the temp had dropped to 21.

Yay, I thought he souldn't be awake until at least 6am.  Well he was makeing lots of little noises in his sleep.  I got worried thought he might be cooking, thought i've done the wrong thing,  he is going to boil.  I went in and undid the suit went back to bed by this time it is getting really late (or early depends on how you look at it).  I tried and tried to go to sleep but no I couldn't bubs was too noisy and I thought he is boiling.  I was thinking well we have a window open bubs dosen't.  We are dressing in nothing and have the doona on from the waist down.  Bubs has singlet and suit on.  My mind was racing was he going to fry?  better to be safer than sorry so i went in and changed his suite back to the old one.  What was I thinking I thought.  Bubs very nearly woke up in the process, phew he didn't.

Was I going to sleep this time I hope I was going to.  It was about 4am this time or there abouts.  I tried and treid with no luck.   bubs was still noisy so I thought could be wind as I couldn't burb him when I fed him.  I tried for 10min with no luck so I tried again with no luck.   Well lets hope it all passes and we all get some sleep.  I must have driffed off, I don't know how long.

I hear a squeal and run in put the dummy back in  didn't work so I got up and fed him and with that we all went back to sleep.  That was at about 5.30am so from 2.15 am to 5.30 I was awake and gees do I feel tired today.

In the morning he woke at 7 and I thought i'm not getting up my partner can do.  When I did get up 'cause he wasn't making any movement I hear Ange I'll get up so I slept until 8 and layed in until about 815. not much of a sleep in.  I'll have a arvo nap today.

I also think little man is teething as I can see little white lumps in his mouth and I can feel it to.  Poor little man!

Thanks for reading....

I just don't get it.........

by ajv00Comment Published at 02:1702:1710 comments10 comments36 Visits36 VisitsReport

To night I was showing my partner around Minti as he wanted to have a look.  He is so sceptical..  I couldn't beleive it.   He saw that there were some blokes on here and he said "why are they on a mother and baby website?"  So I had to explain that minti was for parents not just mothers etc...  So he got all mucho and started saying that they are not real men etc..(I wont go into what he actually said) LOL.  I had a right go at him.  and I couldn't convince him other wise.

I just don't get it.. Why do men have to get all mucho and think that men should not be on minti and show there feelings, isn't this what minti is for......??????
