Happy new year to everyone, hope you had a good time last night, whatever you did.
Last night was hot, really hot and the air con sure did get a work out like it is now 'cause it its still damn hot!!
We had friends over last night and cooked some chicken from a Jamie Oliver book that I got for christmas. We had 3 groups of people over so one group did starters/nibbles, one did dessert and the other did some dacquris. It works out well this way and we only have to think about one thing. We were going to have a BBQ but as the temp went to 42c it was way too hot for it.
We ate and drank and then watched the fireworks on the telly. Went to bed about 1am, had to get up to bubs a couple of times last night for this and that. Then at 6am he decided to stay up and not go back to sleep, so I got up while my man sleept. (he also got up last night) about 8.30 I went back to bed and didn't wake untill 11.15 am... So so tired and I still feel like I could sleep for a week.
Well christmas was a good one for us went over to my sisters for brekky. So there was my 2 sisters and their families and mum and dad
We then went to mum and dads for a yummy xmas lunch. Of course there was too much and we couldn't eat it all.
Next day we went up to the country to visit my in-laws, what a relaxing time that was. When we got there my BIL and his family were there and so was my other BIL that lives there. We had a lovely xmas dinner of cold meat and salad. It was very hot up there so most of the time we stayed in doors with the air con on and watched the cricket. Bubs was on his best behavour and they loved seeing him.
So now the fun is over and tomorrow it is back to the same old thing. My man has to go back to work and bubs gets his 6mth injections tomorrow.
Hope you all had a great time last night and your not suffering too much today. After all I drank last night I have no hangover but boy am I tired........
Take care |

Then in the Arvo it is our street party. Look at yesterdays Blog and you will see a pic of my back yard. The party is going to be on the grass bit just beyond the fence. It should be good 'cause there are lots of kids in our street. We will get friendly with them all so bubs has some play mates for when he gets older.
Monday CHRISTMAS EVE the neighbours are coming to our place for a bbq. I live on a small block with 3 town houses so the 3 or us will get together. It is quite nice we often do things like this just because.
Tuesday CHRISTMAS DAY sees me going to church with mum and dad and then we will all go over to my sisters for brekky and present opening. Then a bit of chill out time b4 lobing over to mum and dads for lunch. Can't wait!!! Only 4 more sleeps.
Wednesday BOXING DAY mum and dad always have a bbq party were we invite loads of friends and have left overs etc... everyone brings a plate. We drink too much then go over the road to the park and play crochet (spelling?) it used to be cricket when all us kids were young. Everyone drinks and cheats and has merry old time. My man, the little one and I will only spend a short time there as we are going away up to visit my inlaws. They live in the country near the SA border. Takes about 4 hours to get there. We will be spending at least 4 nights there. It will be very relaxing as there is nothing to do there I will take lots of books my knitting and bubs will also keep me busy.
Jump over to Monday and it is NEW YEARS EVE we are having a little gathering us and 3 other friends. We have started a tradition and we now do it every year. We always say to our guests if you get a better offer take it. They always turn up LOL

I HEAR BY CHRISTIAN THIS BUGET BARBIE CAMPER.. PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT!!
Last night a girlfriend and I went to see the stage show of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. It was fantastic, very outragous and hilarious. The costumes were amazing, the songs toe-tapping dancing kind. The guy that played Felicia (Guy Pearce's part in the movie) was outstanding and I must admit very good looking with a great body that he did show off. It was money well spent we had fairly good seats, about 10 rows from the front.
We frocked up and went in and had a daiquiri. We were surprized with the amount of people that just rocked up in there tracky dacks or jeans. I was always brought up that when you went to the theatre you dressed up and it was a luxury to be going..
Afterwards we went out for dinner to a very nice resturant, Vietamese.
The next theatre or stage show that we would like to see is Billy Elliot... |

We went out to my partners work xmas do. My girlfriend happily accepted to babysit for us so that was good. Her and her BF came around about 7ish and bubs was in bed....
Every year my partners boss takes his work out to dinner for xmas (not many of them in the company) this year was Indian, very nice indeed. We had champers and then some wine the food was really yummy I oredered corriander prawns. We all ordered something diffrent and shared. We got home about 11.30pm way passed my bed time of 9.30pm
Anyway we got home and we asked how bubs had been, and oh after all the instructions we gave them, bubs decided to get up and play, who knows why and for how long (my friend wouldn't really say so I'm guessing a while) He has never done this b4 we usually put him to bed about 6.30 and we don't hear from him until 3-4am. I think he knew we were out and different people were looking after him.
I am hoping that next friday will go smoothly as we are having another night out but this time bubs gets to go to grandmas house to sleep (my mum) so we will go there and do the routine of bath bottle and bed and fingers crossed he will sleep through.
I think that I am going to be on minti most of the day today as I am trying to unwatch rather than delete all my stuff, and hopefully not get so much stuff in my watchlist. It is going to take ages as I have to do it one by one. I have two web pages open on minti so I can do the watchlist and also have a look around minti.
Have a fab w/end everyone. |

Hi all well we have finally put our tree up. It is not a real one like i would have liked but hey, my friend gave me this tree ages ago when I was single and I guess I feel that every year I should put it up. Not many ornaments yet I try and buy one every year.

Well I went to the shopping centre today. I put my bag in the car, put the stroller in, put the nappy bag in, and put the baby in and off we went. After what seemed like hours of trying to find a park, and nearly going home I got one. I had a few things to get but thought I would have a look round first.
Baby was getting aggitated so I thought I would go home so off to get the stuff, first stop was coles, got a few things an avacado, grapes etc... got to the check out.... and SILLY SILLY ME!! I had to say to the check out chick hang on I don't think I can pay for them. I looked in my bag, look in the stroller and nope not wallet... Don't you just hate that??? I said to the chick how much for the avacado? rooted around in the bottom of my handbag and sure enough there was just enough to buy the avacado.
So now I have to go out again, but this time not to the shopping centre. Couldn't face fighting for a car park.
OH Silly silly me!!!
I got home and my wallet was sitting beside the computer |

I know some of the Minti mums out there buy hampers and have been doing so for some time,I myself don't buy hampers but I have been looking at some for next year, chrisco, castle and hamper king. I don't normaly watch today tonight but as we left the telly on after the news there is was and there was a report on the hampers. Here is a link to the story (on the right hand side of your page) basically it had a few people who had ordered hampers and the orders were wrong. For example one lady had out of date stock, another her frozen food wasn't frozen etc.... These may be just a few one of cases but I think this is terrible, how can companies who are well known and respected do this to people and not even repond when trying to find out what has happened.
I just wanted to let all the people who by hampers know. And anyway we all know what the current affairs programmes are like. |

For those of you who read my last blog about the sleeping bags well........ I have to say I plucked up the courage to ring the person and tell her about the wrong size and she was so lovely about it that I had nothing to worry about. Like everyone said she is a business woman and she will understand. The person is going to make me some more in a bigger size I told her what happened and she said no worries.
I always get my knickers in a knot, so to speak, over things like this and I shouldn't have been worried at all. She can't make them until next week, but that is fine with me.
Phew!! here's hoping that the next lot of sleeping bags are the right size.
Thank |

This is a question that I am not putting in Q & A 'cause I don't think it is a parenting Q
Anyway one of the mothers from my mother's group has a friend who sews baby stuff eg, sleeping bags and wraps etc... anyway I got some sleeping bags made up for my son and got them delivered today.
The problem is that they are the wrong size. When I rang her up I said I would like them for my son who is 5 mths old size 0 - 1 she said no problem. When I looked at them today and paid for them I thought they were ok but they are not the right size. I measured them up agained a size 00 that I have and it is about that size or smaller
What to do? Do I ring her or email her and tell her. I really hate doing things like this 'I get to embarrased/shy and don't want to hurt the other person. I could sell them on ebay and get some more elsewhere LOL but I guess that wouldn't be right. I know in my head that I have to let her know maybe she could sell these ones to someone else that puts an order through.
Oh, I just don't like have to tell her I get nervous etc... but it has gotta be done right? |
