Reminder about Reporting Advice/Questions

Comment Published at 17:2417:248 comments8 comments119 Visits119 VisitsReport
Just a friendly reminder that whenever you report an advice or question, to inform the author of the advice/question that you are reporting, so they know what they did wrong and how to improve it.

Thanks.

Yep, I will do.  I usually leave the reporting upto the members who can fend for themselves.  I guess I am just way too nice! lol.

Re: Reminder about Reporting Advice/Questions
Hey there

Our members can 'report' other people's articles, pics, comments, etc if they feel that they are in breach of Terms and Conditions and the Code of Honor. Some situations where people may do this include people who are spamming or people who have taken other peoples works and published it as their own.

These reported items then go into what we call 'the vault' - but is actually called 'Reported Advice', 'Reported Comments', 'Reported Images', and 'Reported Members'. These items that are reported are immediately disabled and put in the queue for moderation.

Members who have gained a silver badge with two stripes and upwards gain some admin functions, which give them the ability to vote something in or out.

What happened was that there have been a few people who have reported something because eg they didn't think it was advice or that the advice was copyrighted... so it was just a reminder to be courteous and let people know that they reported what they reported.

Re: Reminder about Reporting Advice/Questions
Sure thing Angie - I always provide a copy of the email that I send the author as my explanation when reporting... (If the author has logged in, during the past 12mths), I'll go back to doing it for everyone.  This is even more important when the author has no admin access to the reports, as they don't know what is going on.
