No need for Rudolph! According to this Yahoo News article, this Christmas Eve, the planet Mars will be unusually shinier.

"Mars will outshine the brightest star and won't be as noticeable in the sky for nine more years"

Voting Gaming Reminder

by angiehComment Published at 18:0218:027 comments7 comments112 Visits112 VisitsReport
Just a kind reminder about gaming the votes.

If you have not read this in the Voting Vault already, please do so. Please note that this group is a private group, but it is welcome for all members - just send a request to join in.

If you decide to target a member through voting, we can see who this is. What do we mean by targeting a member through voting?

What we mean by this is eg voting 5 articles in 20 minutes - as you all know, most articles are fairly lengthy on Minti and voting on 5 articles in a row within 20 minutes would mean that you took 4 minutes to completely read an article.

We would like you to actually properly read the article and digest it before voting.

In addition, another way of voting gaming using the same example is that if you voted eg 1 for all 5 articles that you 'read' in those 20 minutes... or alternatively, if you vote 5 for all 5 articles in the 20 minutes - that would be seen as suspicious.

In summary, we do encourage you all to vote what you think an article is worth. However, we do not accept voting that is done in a targeted fashion such as if you are trying to help a friend get higher votes on an article or improve their ranking. In the end, you will be caught and you will not be helping any one.

Admin Functions - Voting it in or out

by angiehComment Published at 17:5317:531 comments1 comments59 Visits59 VisitsReport
A member came to me with a concern yesterday about why was her article being voted in breach even though it was clearly not in breach.

Please remember to vote seriously on these issues when they are in the queue for moderation. Voting negatively on items that are in the queue for moderation should not be the target even if you... 'dislike' someone. You should vote on the merit of what is contained in the reported item.

Please remember:
* To read the whole article as well as the comment of why it is in breach if a member which isn't the Minti-System reports it
* Vote "Yes" if you think it is in breach
* Vote "No" if you think it is not

Reminder about Reporting Advice/Questions

by angiehComment Published at 17:2417:248 comments8 comments84 Visits84 VisitsReport
Just a friendly reminder that whenever you report an advice or question, to inform the author of the advice/question that you are reporting, so they know what they did wrong and how to improve it.

Thanks.
