After having such a cold grey wet bleak winter, the sun has come out.

It might be still very cold and windy but at least the sky is blue.

I'm in Melbourne, and to see the sun shine is truly a blessing. I always get very excited and on a high when i see the sun. I have learnt to patiently await it. im fortunate that i dont suffer from depression . However grey skies are a little depressing.

I know nature has to take its course so i try to make the most of the grey bleak cold wet days. But i do love it when we get a break from it like today, And i say .......

BRING ON THE SUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We left for the airport last night just to discover road works in the tunnel. so the tunnel was closed.

The plane had already landed when we got there but going through customs took a little. So thank goodness we were waiting for our son, not the other way around.

Ectastic wouldnt have describe how i felt. at the same time it felt strange. It was like he had never gone away and yet.....

It hasnt sunk in yet as he had origionally planned to come back at end of September. But in his own words "i feel like i've been away for a year, I really missed you guys ."

He had said ealier the  45 day contiki tour to 22 countries was exciting and fun but really knocked him out. All he wanted to do was sleep in his own bed.

Even Melbournes cold weather wasnt going ro keep him away!!! But quite a temperature shock as he was experiencing 35 degree heat lol

At least Melbourne has now managed to bring on the sun even if it is still chilly

As far as the time difference goes , 7 hours as europe have daylight savings. So as im writing this its morning here (10.30am) its 3.30am there.

My son couldnt go to sleep until the wee hours and he will be sleeping right through as he didnt get any sleep on the plane

He has brought back  2 steins from Germany. One being a limited edition Zoller and Born. Hand crafted and handpainted. One is for his dad and they both take pride on our Bar

Today my son had an appointment for his post operation check up

As of today he is officially off crutches. he is limping a little but that is expected

finally he got some answers to the questions that he had asked the nurse two weeks ago following his operation.

Unfortunately his operation was put back til further on in the day and by the time the op was performed and my son woke up it was well into 7pm. By that time the specialist had gone home and the nurse was clueless.

apparently he had to be opened up after all as the bone that was growing that shouldnt have . It was too big too remove with keyhole surgery

His stitches are healing very nicely as he did a superb job not getting his foot wet. There was a little blood on the bandage but nothing to worry about.

The bad news is that it might grow back within 5 years. It depends on whether he sprains his ankle and how. Its hard keeping a sportsperson down!!

Goodness knows i had a hard time getting him to the dinner table when he was young!

Anyhow im just pleased that all appears to have gone well A mum never stops worrying

Now my sister is going to go through all this next month when my nephew goes under. His is a little more complicated as its his knee and i believe he has to have a reconstruction. Its a rather costly operation , of which he will pay for it totally as he doesnt have private cover . He is getting married next year and because of work commitements(he works interstate sometimes he is in the science/engineering field) he cant afford to take time off waiting through the public system. I believe he will be eight thousand dollars out of pocket. But it has to be done

Thats all my news at the moment . although for those that didnt read my previous blog, my oldest son comes back from overseas saturday night

well its only two more nights and at around this time saturday night (melbourne time) i will be meetng our son at the airport.

He has been away holidaying overseas  since May . He had done the 45 day contiki tour through 22 countries.

Whilst he has had a fabulous time i think he just wants to get back home and sleep in his bed again!!!

He  has been uming and arring for the last 2 weeks about it.after much thought he has decided to come home! After all he said it feels like he has been away for a year.

He thinks he must be getting old . He just turned 30 whilst on tour in Turkey!

Anyway how many people do you know that give up the invitaion to holiday at a friends villa along the beach cliff on a beautiful island ? Well my son just did that! anyway their children live here in Melbourne and my son actually had coffee in athens with the oldest son who left Australia to go home to visit his mum on the greek island. So he casually just stopped by and had coffee Ah such is life.

Whilst im so looking forward to having our son back i kept asking him if he was sure that he wanted to come back now. The weather here at the moment is cold and wet and this cold snap just doesnt seem to ease

But i guess after temperatures of 35 and all tanned up he just wants to lay his head on his own pillow.

Work also called him up, thinking that he might be in London(his origional plan was to do a little teaching over there) but he had given up the idea before he left here as there was far too much organising to do . What with the contiki tour and all.  anyway they told him there is plenty of emergency work awaiting him here.

He is eager to come back and save for an apartment . Looks like he is ready to settle down. it doesnt sound like he will regret his decision as he does put a lot of thought into things before the final decision

I really cant wait Now only 2 more sleeps
