BRACE YOURSELF FELLOW MELBOURNIANS AND VICTORIANS

Comment Published at 02:2002:2012 comments12 comments35 Visits35 VisitsReport

we are in for some doozies!!!! mother nature is certainly working overtime.

winds are expected for the next three days and tomorrow evening roughly between 6pm and 8pm the weather bureau has warned they are expecting winds of up to 130 ks per hour.

Its windy at the moment . wet and grey skies too. possible blackouts. so im making sure i have the torches handy . just in case.

i certainly hope there isnt going to be much damage done. Although ive alredy seen trees and branches down, from previous days. This year and last year in particular we have certainly had lots of windy days.

well i certainly wont be venturing outdoors unless its necessary.

i hope you all stay warm and safe no matter which part of the world you live in

love annie

Winds a awful, hate them....sincerely hope there is no severe damage and everyone stays safe.

It is truly very strange weather we are having world wide...arrived in Canada only one day and we copped a Tornado Wow...Marg said they don't get them. Luckily no damage here but many hundreds lost their homes. On Steve's arrival home he said it was 42 in our back patio, gee am I glad I'm here.

Take real good care Annie.

wow tornado you say ! united States also had a tornado. Sadly two people were swept away and tragically past away. One was a child.

Its still windy here> They did say for three days. trees have come down in some areas. Especially as `they are very dry from lack of watering. Across the road the branches have been cut from the tree in the street, also further down .

We havent had any damage. Luckily our front door frame got fixed last year with the storms. Mind you it shouldnt be happening with new houses but building companies dont do proper inspections and builers are cutting corners!!!

its great to hear you all the way from Canada.

so Steve is back home. i miss that patio of yours

i was actually at work on the phone and it was so windy and it poured. we could hear it all on the roof as we are the upper level.  i was midway and i had to use the database, calling qld.

it wasnt until i finished off the phone and peeked out of the window in the tea room that i got to see .

its windy this morning too and it was so cold this morning when i woke up

Re: BRACE YOURSELF FELLOW MELBOURNIANS AND VICTORIANS

thanks ems

its the thought that counts

arna is in ipswich qld and they had a record for august 35 degrees celcius!!! keep in mind we are all in australia and its still meant to be winter! go figure!!!

we are south though closer to the antartic and they are north closer to papua new guinea.

the wind has died down this morning but its like the calm before the storm! yesterday was calm in the morning but by afternoon the wind had picked up1

its great to see you are out and about with the girls and having fun !  i love your new avatar too

Re: BRACE YOURSELF FELLOW MELBOURNIANS AND VICTORIANS

no pauline its not good news at all. we are south of the eastern states and queensland which is north of the eastern states had their hottest august day/night. they sweltered in 36 degrees celcius and this is winter in australia!!! we on the other hand are getting top temperatures of 15 and 16  with high winds.

we usually get south australias weather a day later!!! I took out the garbage (we have collection tomorrow) and across the road their tree thats outside their footpath has split. I guess with the water shortage here a lot of trees are dry and are splitting easily.

I saw another tree down a little earlier too.  As long as people dont get hurt, i guess damage usually is fixable.

in america two people have already lost their life to a hurricane. Its disasters like these that are truly sad
