wow chadstone a nightmare! lucky though i found a spot.............

Comment Published at 00:2700:2712 comments12 comments20 Visits20 VisitsReport

wow chadstone ( a large shopping complex in aust first shopping centre to be built in australia actually in the 1960s )was a nightmare the carpark was chockers with cars just driving around and around.

but luckily as i drove towards the back there was an empty spot. by the time i parked about 5 cars seperately waited thinking i was leaving.

went into myer (large dept store for those living outside australia ) sales everywhere . but i had a mission to buy the oldest shirts and trousers for his birthday (we gave him runners last night)

i ended up buying 5 shirts i had systematically written the sizes and brands of his favourite shirts and trousers.

trousers unfortunately i didnt buy any as he already had the ones there and i wasnt sure of the other brands

but shirts  were on a table packaged and you had to sift through the sizes. the size my son wore must be a popular size because i struggled to find any in that size. they were either one size smaller or one size bigger

asisstants couldnt help me they were so busy helping other shoppers it was mayhem . at the end i was able to buy 2 different brands and the sizes were different so i had to make sure they were what i had written from home and my son wears the european cut style so that even restricted me further

but two of the shirts origionally were eighty nine dollasr each reduced to sixty dollars with a further 25% off

2 others reduced  to thirty dollars and  the other to thirty seven dollars and fifty cents

all up i paid just under one hundred and ninety dollars for 5 shirts of well known brands van huesen (vn) and brooksfield

usually my son only comes home with two shirts. paying the full price

but the best bargain of the day was picking up a cushion pandora brand from target origional price twenty nine dollars and ninety nine cents reduced to two dollars and eighty six cents yes you heard right and i scanned it to make sure that noone put the wrong code sticker on and there was a further 25% off all bed linen so it came to two dollars and fifteen cents

cant even buy a coffee at that price! it has even got a zip for washing and its got embroidery .

it wont get very dirty because its more for looks on the bed . it was the only one!!! otherwise i would have bought the lot!

now i know the government is encouraging us not to spend at the sales  to keep interest rates down but they up the interests rates anyway and i only buy what i need on sales and if you can save in the long run why not

of course there are lots off things that i end up paying full price down the track because at the same time i dont want to spend thousands when the sales are on.

i always ask myself do i really need this before i purchase it. i dont want clutter unnecessarily

i finally got out of chaddy (chadstone ) and about 5 cars were waiting in the aisle to pounce for the spot. its not helping that they are expanding because parking is a problem at the best of times.

im just glad im home resting my poor aching feet

cheers annie

Hi matey,

WOW - seems like you had an awesome shop and managed to score heaps of bargains . . I love Myer sales but sadly there is no Myer where I live now . .  Make sure your poor feet get some major TLC and all the kids toys sales start soon and if you love a bargain then I know you will be there too .. .

Cheers Kellz

Geee, are your shops usually that busy??? Sounds like Christmas here.  You certainly got some great buys!  Funny though with the kids, you might as well know the brand and what they like... one shirt is not the same as the other to a young person.  I've never been a shopper but finding great buys is fun!

yeah its like christmas alright. its the stock take sale that happens annually although i think they do thistwice a year.

supposedly they need to restock and gradually make room for the spring/ summer stock.  there are other sales along the way too.

we cant complain .

Iceland is very expensive  and so Simon and Sylvia usually come home with empty cases and do loads of shopping here in Englandand go back loaded. It's fun too shopping with them buying clothes (and toys ) for Jakob and Emily.

yeah we tend to have a lot of sales too i dont know if iceland do what most european countries do they only have specials on twice a year,

i know in greece they  start in august so whem i holiday there its so hard to hold off for the sales.

i was still buying stuff along the way that i liked at full price! it was hard waiting from june to august when everyday being on holidays the shops would be in my face and as we were travelling a lot there were places we wernt going to come back to.

i believe simon and sylvia are coming over in a few weeks

i hope sylvia enjoys the dhopping

Re: wow chadstone a nightmare! lucky though i found a spot.............

i used to love shopping when the children were little.

nowadays there are so many people that i just like to quickly go in and out

im back tomorrow to buy the youngest some shirts you see i didnt have his size on me and today i was on a mission.  it was still part of my older boys birthday present from last night.

but im going at 10.am when the shops open so i dont have hassles parking or the crowds in the store. plus i know there wernt many in his size either they seem to be the popular sizes so they go fast.

cheers annie
