Woe Is Willow

This post is from from my other blog here

Yes, I have the most beautiful little monkeys in the world, but that doesn’t mean they are easy to wrangle all the time.

Over the last few months, I have noticed an alarming trend in the behaviour or Willow.  Nothing that can’t be managed and nothing too serious, just something that is tiring to deal with and takes up way too much of our time.

The first time I noticed this happening, was not long after she started school.  Naturally, I just put it down to her being tired from a big day of playing and learning, but apparently that isn’t it ...

You have a Willow too?  LOL.  Yeah, it is hard to deal with them.  What I object to the most is my mum insists I was the same at her age, but I never stole anything from shops and never touched anything when we went out shopping, and I was pretty good until my step dad came along.

Re: Woe Is Willow

Thanks Annie, you noticed the horrific problem with my site - it disappeared!  Our server host decided to transfer us across to a new server without letting us know!  Had no access for about 12 hours, but it is all fixed now!

Willow is very well behaved at school, to the point where she could just about run the class!  I guess she doesn't want her teacher to see her gremlin side, so she leaves it for us instead! LOL

thanks arna

i just got to read the rest of the blog.

im glad you were able to get the site problem fixed. now i hope all works out for willow.

incredible though that she is just the opposite in class. sounds like she is on her very best behaviour. there wouldnt be anything that is affecting her like an industrial site or something near your residence?

love annie

Re: Woe Is Willow

As far as we know, there is nothing enviornmental that could be causing her behaviour.  We have recently moved to an industrial estate area, but nothing bad here, and her behaviour was bad before the move.

We have been thinking mild Autism, but if she does have it, it would be very mild.  Other than the defiance, she is pretty good, so if we can get through that, we will survive! LOL

Poor you! Hope you get to the bottom of it and soon. The arguments/moods and the stubborness ("I am NOT too hot") we have too, but not the destructiveness thankfully.

Re: Woe Is Willow

Yes, it is becoming a major problem now.  She is trying to remove the flyscreen off her bedroom window now, which isn't an easy thing to do!

I'm hoping she will grow out of it in the next year or so, but we may not have a house by then! LOL.

My mum read this on Facebook, and finally admitted I was not that bad a child! Yay!  She finally admits what the real problem was! LOL.

Re: Woe Is Willow

Didn't it feel great when your mom admitted what you knew all along?

As for what is happening with Willow...You must be exhausted mentally and physically....hope you can find a solution and resolve this soon...wouldn't want her to chew your house down and you would have to move in with your neighbours....LOL!

Re: Woe Is Willow

It did feel good having my mum say that.  It seems the last few years I was at home over shadowed the years before that.  Still, I wasn't the perfect angel, but at least I knew better than to eat the house!

Exhausted?  Us?  Is there a word that means more than exhausted? LOL.  Move in with the neighbours?  No way!  Don't get me started on their latest antics, because I'm already planning my own comedy about them! lmao!

drained of energy or effectiveness; extremely tired; completely exhausted;

completely emptied of resources; drained physically

Weary; worn down...

should I continue?

Re: Woe Is Willow

Do tell what they have been up to or is it PG-Rated?  LOL!

Attention seeking could be what Willow is up too...she wants a bigger piece of the attention pie and found a way to get the bigger slice maybe?

LOL....do you like the analogy?  Gosh, when did I become the happy little homemaker and talking in food analogies?  Domesticated I try hard to NOT be...lol!  That is way too normal for me...ROFL

Re: Woe Is Willow

PG?  Try X-rated! lmao!  And they have now taken to leaving the blinds open, the windows open and making sure they are right near the windows!  I'm thinking our outside time will now be on the other side of the backyard.  And the cockatiels will be moving too, it seems they are picking up bad habits! lmao!

Yes, it is an attention thing with Willow, but it is extreme and starting to become dangerous.  Besides, the house chewing she started when she was 9 months old, and getting plenty of attention.

Re: Woe Is Willow

Hmmm, it did occur to me that clever Willow has found a way to get your attention - something that you cannot ignore and that makes her stand out from the crowd at home. Not sure in your state of beyond-ehaustion you can do much about it though. At least she doesnt humiliate you in public by doing it at school too....

Re: Woe Is Willow

Willow and shopping are 2 words that should never be used in the same sentence.  She is awful when we go out.  She won't do as she is told, will touch everything, has tried to pocket lollies etc and has even become physically violent towards me when I removed her from a shop because she kept trying to eat the chocolate.

No wonder i don't leave the house much!  Les does 99% of the shopping, and Willow is just as bad for him as she is with me.

I've tried taking just her shopping, but it is just the same.
