Success!!!

Comment Published at 03:3203:3228 comments28 comments39 Visits39 VisitsReport

For a while now, we have been trying to get Willow out of nappies.  For the last few months, she has been in big girl knickers during the day, with only a few small dramas (like the way she sits on the toilet and direction control!!!!  You think boys are bad!) that we knew we would have and just reminded ourselves that it is going to happen and we can't do much about it.

Well, the last week or so, Willow has been completely out of nappies!  Yay!  Knickers over night and during the day!!!!!!  Ok, we had one accident, but her bed was dry so we are thinking she didn't go to the toilet soon enough after getting out of bed.

I can't believe that after 2 years of getting our stubborn mule to understand potty training and getting her to cooperate, we have finally one the battle!

Relief!  Now we only have 2 in nappies, though I think Laurel will be out of them during the day soon too.  Then when Puggle comes along......Ok, so one out, one in!

The battle has been hard as Willow is well, Willow.  She doesn't have any issues, like Austism etc, but geez, this girl will look at you with a blank stare when you talk to her.  This gets Mummy's back up, I can tell you!

Hopefully, things will keep going well, and I will win the vacant stare battle too  before much longer!

Re: Success!!!

Thankfully, that is one thing Willow is fussy about! lol.  Direction control, not so, and I am getting sick of being the one to use the toilet after her!  Eeeewww! lol.

Re: Success!!!

Its great news that she is out of nappies! Congratulations! It must be quite a relief to be in time for puggle!
I'm so scared of potty training! I'm gonna wait for summer so I dont go through so many clothes at least!

Huge relief! lol.  Typical though, one out, one in! lol.

Oh, I hope it's not you going through all the clothes!  might be doing something wrong! rofl.  Summer is the best time for potty training, but we couldn't wait that long!!!!!  She's off to school next year.

Re: Success!!!

Big relief! lol.  Now, if we can get her behaviour under control more, she will survive to escape to school! lol.

I'm sure Special K! (sorry, I'm going cross eyed with exhaustion at the moment! lol) will get there in the end too.

Re: Success!!!

It's a great feeling to complete the potty training, It's a long time ago that I had to go through it.

But it's clever mum as well as clever Willow

Re: Success!!!

Thanks.  Clever Dad more likely, as I have been rather unwell over the last 6 months, between morning sickness and the flu, but it was my ideas that helped him, so yeah, clever mum too! lol.

Re: Success!!!

And Willow is quite proud too, and so she should be!  Good luck with Chloe, it has been a 2 1/2 year battle with Willow, and only the last 3 months have proved promising.

still, you have only Chloe at home when Kylie goes to school, so might be a quicker transition for you!

Re: Success!!!

I think the hard won battles provide the sweetest victories, because the road has been long and the results a long time coming!

At least Willow doesn't roll her eyes at me now, I nearly plucked them out last time! lol.  Ok, so I had an image of me doing that and putting them in a jar by my computer, but then gave them back as I got creeped out by her constant staring! lol.  I have such a wicked imagination sometimes.

Re: Success!!!

yeah, one battle down, how many more to go? lol.  It is never ending.  Broke Willow of chewing the house, yes the house, to pieces and so she decided to climb the walls and swing off the cables to the bathroom light!  bodgy building to say the least, and not much we can do to stop her!

Re: Success!!!

Thanks Amanda, just what I don't need to hear! lol.  Let's just hope that Willow does lose this annoying habit!

After 2 1/2 years of trying to get Willow to accept potty/toilet training, she has finally surprised us and lightened the financial load a little by opting for the knickers and toilet!  That is until Puggle comes along!

Re: Success!!!

I don't think we will have any more accidents with Willow.  She likes to spend a lot of time in the toilet, but I can't understand why.  Guess she just likes to copy mummy, but I do not spend that amount of time in there!  Or do I? lol.

Re: Success!!!

Good luck with that Fi! lol.  Not many toilet stops between you and me! lol.  No, I know i need to rest.  Been trying to, but so fidgety at the moment.  I really don't think we have long to go.

And the relief of getting a 4 year old out of nappies is enormous!  Now she can finally go to daycare, as they wouldn't accept her until she was completely out of nappies.
