This post is from from my other blog here Yes folks, you are hearing it here first. My time on minti is now being restricted even further. This time, it is not because of family or wanting to be else where, but because of something that is ‘in your face’ and completely annoying.
It is a pop-up add. Oh sure, it doesn’t sound too bad, and I should be able to turn it off right? Well, I can’t turn it off! All my pop-ups are blocked to the max and this one is still getting through. I believe it is a pop-up blocker bi-pass ad and there isn’t anything ...

An entire pregnancy now! Wow! Breastfeeding for that long is like, well, having a baby! Yeah, not quite, but you all know which planet I am from don’t you? By the way, that was a rhetorical question, you don’t have to answer unless you really have to.

For me, making 6 months was a huge deal. I had never made it that far with any of my previous babies, but our little Puggle is just so easy to feed.

From the instant she was born, she has been a booby monster, and I do mean a monster. She ...

If you can add it to your blog for us all to listen.......bonus!!!!
Explain why it lifts you, is it the lyrics, is it the tune, does it symbolise something to you.............
Then tag two other members to do the same: Mail them so they know they are tagged
Come on these games are fun and we all learn a little more about each other too!!!! Ok, let's see....
Beautiful by Carole King from her Tapestry album.
You've got to get up every morning with a smile on your face
And show the world all the love in your heart
Then people gonna treat you better
You're gonna find, yes, you will
That you're beautiful as you feel
Waiting at the station with a workday wind a-blowing
I've got nothing to do but watch the passers-by
Mirrored in their faces I see frustration growing
And they don't see it showing, why do I?
You've got to get up every morning with a smile on your face
And show the world all the love in your heart
Then people gonna treat you better
You're gonna find, yes, you will
That you're beautiful as you feel
I have often asked myself the reason for sadness
In a world where tears are just a lullaby
If there's any answer, maybe love can end the madness
Maybe not, oh, but we can only try
You've got to get up every morning with a smile on your face
And show the world all the love in your heart
Then people gonna treat you better
You're gonna find, yes, you will
That you're beautiful as you feel
Why it lifts me
Because it is so true! The more we find our inner beauty, the more people are going to help us more and the better our life is. Not kidding. A few years back, my family was plunged into severe chaos. I was alone with 3 kids, and heavily pregnant with my 4th. Les was elsewhere (for reasons I am can't talk about- not my place to really). We were living in a caravan in a small coastal town that had no public transport and no footpaths (I don't have a drivers license), and I was really struggling to get help for my family (because of certain events, the entire community shut down on me and blamed me for it all). For some reason, I had asked my mum to send me a copy of Tapestry, wasn't sure at the time why, but now I know it was to save my life.
After having been told that I was worthless by one of the top help organisations (not going to name them because others will be offended), I had no one else to turn to for help. I was alone with 3 little kids who were in need of better care ( I was really struggling) and at my wits end.
Any way. One night, after putting them all to bed, I sat in the kitchen and just looked at this knife on the draining board. I cried as I felt the only way for my girls to get help was if I was out of the picture (use your imagination). After a while, I could hear music, that I hadn't put on. It was Beautiful playing on repeat, and it must have been for a while. I still believe it was my Grandmother (she passed away about 8 years ago) forcing me to hear the song. I looked at the clock, and I had been sitting there, still as stone (if you ever met me, you would know this is something unusual for me), for over 4 hours!!!
I listened to the words, really listened, and the next day when I got up, not only did i know them by heart, but I did them too, and within a few days, my family was finally getting help! Carole King had saved my life with a song she had written 20+ years earlier!
If I ever get the chance to meet her, I will tell her she saved my life, and that her song is still the one that I go back to when i need a kick in the pants to get me out of the dumps. I have it on cd, on my computer and on all my (flat as a tack) mp3 players (got 6 of them, though not all work properly! rofl), and I will also be putting it on my phone.
Beautiful is still as relevant today, as it was back in 1973, and it is one song that everyone should listen too.
Here is the live version of this song:
This version is longer than on the album, but it is just as beautiful! (every pun intended!) |

This post is from from my other blog here My Guilt At Having To Give Up My Beautiful Cats
Once upon a time, my partner and I had three beautiful, tortishell cats. There was Lady, Shania and Sake. They were our babies and we had been their ‘parents’ for over three years.
We loved them to bits and were as responsible with their care as we could be. Most of their lives, they were indoor cats, as we respected the need to protect our native wild life. Lady and Shania did have two litters each, Sake being the result of one, but responsible owners were found for the resulting kittens and ...

This post is from from my other blog here Dear Mum,
You know, right now I kind of hate you. You who is often right, you who knows better than I and you who always knows how to magically turn my kids into mirror images of me (Be careful what you wish for? No, too late for that!).
The last 6 years, I have been a mother myself, and you a grandmother. I have made mistakes and learnt from them (and yours) and grown as a whole. Parenting is such a wonderful experience but it is tough…much tougher than I was truly prepared for.
Well, my darling mother, ...

I’m tragic! No use denying it, because I already know it! But, if you feel the need to remind me, then go ahead, it couldn’t hurt now could it.
Well, I never intended to be a part of soooo many websites, but I am. And you know what? I love it! So much to keep me occupied! And too much to keep me from what I should be doing – the housework.
I have a Windows Live account now. That means msn and Windows version of Facebook or MySpace. Yep, I refuse to join the overhyped and undelivering sites.
This then, is my ...

This post is from from my other blog here Friends Help Us To Find Ourselves
Verbal communication is one of the most common forms of communication that humans use on a daily basis to get their messages across to other people. These discussions are easily facilitated by a telephone or face-to-face.
Humans like to talk, some a little too much and other not enough, but there are reasons behind it. Our complex brains combined with our nature means that we have the need to continually justify the things that happen in our world and how they affect us as individuals…Rest of helium article

I admit, I have no friends. Unless you count ...

This post is from from my other blog here I have to wonder sometimes how on earth us English speaking humans are able to understand each other when there are so many sayings we have that really are grammatically incorrect.
The example under the microscope today is ‘Moving House’. You see, the problem with this saying is that it insinuates when we move from place to place, we are taking our house with us. Don’t agree, then let me break it down for you:
Moving: This word is an extension of the word Move, which is an action. In fact, without the ability to move, all life would cease to be. ...

This post is from from my other blog here Sometimes, you have to be cruel to be kind when it comes to your loved ones. Recently, we had to be cruel to our finches, and we removed their eggs from the cage.
Don’t get all huffy on me now, I had good reason for it. Firstly, many of the eggs had been laid in the seed dish and were practically abandoned. Then there was the fact that the finches themselves kept tossing them out of the nest box and lastly, some of the eggs were damaged.
As each egg was removed, I carefully broke them open to see if they had ...

This post is from from my other blog here I can’t be sure, but I think I forgot to mention here that we were moving. I know I let the other sites I haunt know, but I do believe I forgot to mention it on my own site. Never mind.
Well, after the moving and fighting to get the internet back on (only took 2 weeks, BigPond must be loosing their touch- Yes, I’m dripping with sarcasm at the moment), I am back online and ready to continue my web journey.
Just one thing I ask. Please have patience with me and my ‘activity’ as it is going to take some ...
