Well, I got something to work! LOL

by ArnaComment Published at 01:2101:212 comments2 comments15 Visits15 VisitsReport

Sorry Janice, I am still working on getting Windows Live working on minti.  It isn't the code itself, but minti.  Not sure why when it accepts the code until you save it.  maybe they are working on fixing it as I type.

What I did get to work was having only part of my rss feed from my webpage coming through.  I like to try and keep my visible part of the post short and neat looking, but until now haven't worked it out.  But now I have.  It is just part of the rss feed settings. And you'd think i'd have seen it when going through the set up proccess! LOL.

From now on, the posts coming from my website will show only the first part of it.  After that, it will have a link back to the original post.  This might mean they come through quicker and will keep my homepage from being so intimidating! LOL.

What A Day!

A day that has been both good and bad.  A day that has had celebrations and failures and a day that is going to ring in my ears for a week!

For the most part, it has been a typical day.  Get up, feed bub, have wake up computer time, do something domestic, lunch, more domestic things and computer time and then Ayla and Willow are home.

That’s when it stopped being a usual day.  It became the ‘this isn’t my life day’ with 1 very big first.

Ayla is in year 1, and while this is her second year at school, it ...

I Caved!

This post is from from my other blog here

Right now, I am soooo ashamed of myself!  I a madder than mad!  I am disappointed in myself even.

Why?  Because I joined FaceBook.  ‘Big deal’ you are saying, ‘Everyone is on Facebook these days’.  True, there are millions of people with Facebook accounts, so it shouldn’t really be a surprise that I have one now too.

So why the fuss?  Because I am not the kind of person to join upto something because it is the trendy thing to do.  Oh no, I am not hip, trendy or with the times.  I am boring, over commited online and not the kind ...

I’m Not Obsessed!

This post is from from my other blog here

Well, not much any way. Ok, so I might spend a lot of time with my computer games, but they are for creativity purposes.  Honest they are!

My fave games are Diablo and Diablo II, Heroes of Might and Magic III, IV and V, and the Sims2 (including all expansions).  There are a few others thrown into the mix, but I’m not as obsessive with them as the ones mentioned.

I love the Sims2!  Can’t get enough of it!  It is the one game that I can just leave sitting while I try to do something domestic, and when I come back ...

Only Took A Year - Inner Sanctum Up and Running

This post is from from my other blog here

Palm TreeI knew ages ago that I wanted my site to be more than just a blog.  The only problem was, who to make it more than just a blog.  Solution is pages, hundreds, no thousands, of them if I so wish.

Pages, like blog posts, are easy once you get used to making them.  I spent a lot of time working and editing to get the pages right, but was never happy with them, nor had I found a way to link them into my blog.Bush

Well, ...

Flu, Computer Problems and New Beginnings.

by ArnaComment Published at 20:3920:3918 comments18 comments45 Visits45 VisitsReport

I held off for as long as i could, but the flu got me too.  I've been pretty sick with it, and haven't really been able to sit up for long, which means no computer time for me.  I think I'm finally getting over it, though could do without the back up barkers (the girls are coughing non stop still).

As Aralia has had it bad too, I've had very little sleep.  She wants to be in my arms non stop, which means even during the day, I have to hold her while she sleeps.  Not fun when there are other things I should be doing.

I've been having problems with Firefox too, which hasn't helped my absense from the online world.  It seems, that before I open more than 1 minti tab at a time, I have to log in first, which is a pain to say the least.  I usually like to open the tabs for questions of interest and then log in, but oh well.  Its only taken a week to work out what the problem was.  Before, I'd load up, log in and then everything would stall.  I couldn't move between tabs unless I used the keyboard.  i couldn't access user settings and the only way i could close down was by starting the task manager.  I think the problem is fixed now, but it means I have to change the way I use minti.

Our finches (again! LOL) went for round 2 with breeding.  They have done well actually.  On Tuesday, 2 of the eggs hatched!  And today, another egg broke open to reveal the little alien thing inside!  out of 5 eggs, one got kicked out days before hatching, 3 have hatched and one is just sitting there making up its mind.  They are tiny little finches.  Got super fluffy down on their backs and heads, but are completely bald apart from that.  They have their eyes closed, and their necks aren't yet strong enough for them to sit up properly, so they kind of sprawl in the nest box.  Mum and Dad are very good parents.  They are feeding and toileting the chicks very well, and let me know when visiting hours are over- I can't stop peeking in and they don't mind too much LOL.  So, it looks like our first time parents are going to raise at least 1 chick succesfully, though all would be nice (not holding my breath on that score though).

I'm hoping to be back a bit more, but I'm still pretty sick.  I'm ready for a nap now! LOL
