New job pretty good.

I was so worried about my new job not going well but it is actually quite fun. I get to take the disabled girl out anywhere and she is a happy girl. She can watch movies and she loves shopping and I help her with her homework as I have to do the writing and she enjoys hitting the balloon back and forth. This is actually good exercise for her. The family is indian so I am learning to cook quite a few different dishes too. Her little sister is so lively and they are such good kids. It is a very loving environment and they are very happy to have me there. The mum is so grateful for my help so it makes my job so easy.
My son did come home. His dad is making him ring him every morning at 7.30 to make sure that he is going to school. He has told him he can move in with him in the holidays but right now he can go to school every day. He is now making the effort to do this. I hope this is the right thing for him. Sometimes I feel I put my job and other peoples kids before my own but I need to put food on the table and a roof over our head and that does make me feel guilty but I know that a lot of working mums feel this.

Your helping this family is also helping your own, and not just financially.  Your children will be learning special abilities about helping those who are less abled than the rest of us.

Glad your son came home.  Hope he keeps going to school.  Very important these days.

Best of luck with it all.

Great to hear that the work with the girl is going well. Every Wednesday afternoon for the last 20 months here in Oradea we have been hitting balloons back and forth with our young disabled friend. Children love this kind of attention. Well done!

Teenagers have to learn responsibility but they still need your attention, even more so that when they were slightly yonuger. Someone once said that every teenager needs to wear a badge: 'I'm a recycled toddler'. It must be great for him to speak to his dad every morning. What a wonderful wake up call for him.

Getting the balance between work and family is always difficult. Forget the guilt and just enjoy your family while they're still young, even if it's for a shorter time each day than you would like. It's quality, not quantity.

I am so glad that things are working out for you. The job sounds fantastic. You are lucky.

It's good too that your son is going to school and has come back to you. Hopefully he will settle soon.
