Wish Santa could help

Comment Published at 02:2902:297 comments7 comments26 Visits26 VisitsReport
When I got to work today after dressing, feeding and brushing the 15 year old little girl I look after she was very excited as she had been waiting for me as she wanted me to help her write to santa. I have to hold her hand as they don't work too well. I also have to dress and feed her so you can imagine how limited it is for her. Anyways, all she wanted to write was that she wanted to be able to walk without anyone to help her. She wrote in capital letters -  COULD YOU MAKE MY DREAM COME TRUE. She has a big smile. What is going to happen to that gorgeous smile after christmas. When her mum came home later she asked me what she was so desperate to write. I said don't read it or you will cry. She said I know, I can guess what she wants. I was a bit sad.

Anyway I have nearly finished unpacking and all looks like a house again. My boys have gone out and bought themselves some pocket rockets. I know dangerous little things but we do take them out to ride them in safe places. They are learning some basic mechanics and stuff through that. Actually the other day my idle was stuck really high and the mechanic had no time to look at it but my son fixed the problem for me. It may have been a simple problem but I was happy and he was very proud and happy.

I hope everybody can get what they want from Santa this year. Just all stay safe! xx

 Hi

I know a site that is pretty cool for email santa for

xmas letters and i sorta put your info in to see what it would say with those requests and this is what i got.     Might be fun to try it with her so she is not too disapointed

Merry Christmas Debbie!

Thank you for sending me your email all the way from Nowhere!  Did you know that Nowhere is one of Mrs. Claus' favourite places?  The other thing she really likes is to read all your wonderful emails.  As a matter of fact, she was just asking if I had heard from you lately!

Rudolph put this on personally, just for you Debbie!Jumping Jingle Bells, Debbie, you're getting to be quite a big girl!  Wow, 15 years old already!  Pretty soon you'll be too big to sit on Santa's knee!  Well, even though you're getting a little older Debbie, Santa's glad to see you still have the Christmas Spirit.  I also hear you've been a REALLY REALLY good girl.  (Of course, you won't mind if I do a little checking, will you? HO!! Ho!! ho!!).

Let's see what you put in your letter for Christmas wishes: 1. to be able to walk; 2. ability to write and; 3. miracle.  May all your Christmas wishes come true!Well, I have good news and bad news about your Christmas presents.  The good news is that there's already an elf working on them for you!  The bad news is that the elf's name is "Clumsy".  We love Clumsy dearly, and when he makes good presents, he really makes good presents!  Its just that, well, he always seems to break one or two just before Christmas.  I know he's being extra careful with yours but just in case I don't bring you everything you asked for, at least you'll know who made the prezzies I did bring!

Oh! Oh!  I guess I better go because one of the elves just unplugged the Northern Lights again!  Take care Debbie and don't forget to come back and visit me here at EmailSanta.com on Christmas Eve!!  And remember...  only 14 more sleeps until Christmas!!

Lots of Love,

Hope this helps
Luv Deb

You tell that little girl that she doesn't need to walk on her own to be special because she is precious just the way she is.  The miracle is in being who she is and being proud of it.

Glad your new home is coming together.  Keep up the good work and know that you are special for offering your time and energy to those who are differently abled to us.  I'm sure she has her own special powers in her some where!

Re: Wish Santa could help

What a gorgeous kid! It is so hard to not be able to help them have their dreams come true! I worked with many physically and mentally disabled teens and adults for quite a few years while in high school and uni! Seeing their smiles when you walk in a room and just knowing that you brighten their day is such a great feeling. It will be hard on Christmas morning for her, disappointment may be huge. It may be better for her parents to try and soften the blow by having a letter from Santa explaining that he tried really hard but can't always fix some things, no matter how hard he tries, but he thought of something else that might just brighten her Christmas......with an activity provided by "Santa" with photos so she can see what the visit will entail,  such as a visit to a property where she can be asisted to ride a horse ( I did this with lots of the teens and the smiles on their faces were amazing)  a fun park visit with a ride on a ferris wheel, rollercoaster etc.., a hot air ballon ride( I might not be able to help out with your wish to walk, but how about flying instead!) etc.....

Oh, what a wish - if only!  How can you explain such a thing to her?  Maybe you can let her know that Santa tried his best, and just because it didn't work, it doesn't mean he loves her any less???  Poor thing!  The pocket rockets sound awesome, danger smanger - life is for living - aren't you lucky to have a clever in-house mechanical assistant!

aww thats so sad! i do hope her dream comes true for her even for just a day.
it really does put into perspective whats really important when you hear things like that doesnt it? things we all take for granted being someones dream.......
hope you have a great chrissie and its great that your sons are learning about mechanics! i know that motorbikes are frowned upon but i do think they are great fun and teach terrific life skills if used carefully, i know my mates and my stepbrothers never take their cars to get looked at because they always had motorbikes that they learnt from and worked on GREAT to have them around lol
merry christmas!
luv nat xxx
