I put this in a group called music today and I am not sure if anyone actually visits this site so I will post it here too.          I think learning an instument and being involved in music is a great thing for teenagers. Some people are just born with it in there blood. The reason I discovered this group and came in to join is because I love live music even though I can't play. In my city of Perth there is not that many but when I go to a pub and club I would rather go see some live band then a D.J. I love the cover bands that play Top 40 like Murphy's Law and Sling Sot. Even the heavy metal is good, Air bag is a great band in Perth even if you feel like a dinosaur going to these bands as lots of the young crowd go, we still do it.

If you like blues and are in Perth a friend of mine is a roady for this great band "THE SHINKICKERS" and on Saturday 7th of July from 9pm til midnight they are having a CD launch at Clancy's Fishpub in Fremantle. I will be there and anybody need a night out and loves to see some great music playing minti mail me anytime for the details. Before the night of course. Ha ha.

I am not having much luck with the flu this year. Over the last couple of days have been losing my voice and I have had to shout just to be heard. Today I wake up with no voice at all. I read up about it on the net and apparently I have to just rest my voice completely and although I didn't think that I talked much anyhow it is so hard to be completely mute. It says rest voice and drink plenty of fluids so have my water bottle handy. If it persists for 2 weeks see a doctor. 2 WEEKS! Yikes. Am following to the letter now. Can't even whisper as that is supposed to strain your voice too. This is crazy. The plumber is coming over to fix taps today too. Need to learn sign language fast. Ha ha. At least I can still type and text message. All other callers go to the message bank.

Sometimes it is so hard to think of a title when you just want to dribble about your week. Well Nik started at Maccas last night so now not only do I have myself and my oldest to pick up and drop off to work now there is an extra to at least pick up as there is no way he is walking home at night. What a day of travel. I work 9 to 3, My oldest 8 to 5 and Nik did 4 to 8pm so guess how much I saw of home yesterday.

Luckily my beautiful family I look after on Thursdays are on holiday today so I get the day off and still get paid. And next week is my very last day with them. I worked out that I have been with them for at least 8 months so it is sad as well as a happy moment as mum had a very aggressive cancer but is now in remission and is ready to get back to looking after them herself. Hope I don't cry or anything. I don't know whether to get a gift or not, and it has come up so quick that I hope mum is aware of the date because it was a while ago since I spoke to her about my date of leaving.

Anyway my son has his learners but it is a long time til he is on his P plates. As you can see I am hanging out for that day and I hope my car is not worn out before. Even though I am letting him drive a fair bit I am not sure what is more stressful, as I can't relax. He is doing well but I am not a good passenger. He teases me when I am driving saying slow down mum etc miles from the car as that is what I do to him. Wow this is not easy but at least we can laugh at each other afterwards.

I am trying to ring homeswest today as my window is still boarded and I think that it needs to be fix asap. It is very scary at times. They told me that my accommodation manager will ring back about 3 hours ago. I hate it when they pretend they are so busy they can't speak to you and you wonder how long does it take for someone to get a message.

Anyway will need to get back to some housework at some stage. This site is quite addictive as I keep coming back to it between jobs. hang the washing, back to minti, Do some dishes, back to minti, sweep the floor, back to minti, clean the budgie cage, back to minti. I haven't got his cage back inside so he keeps jumping over the keys as I am writing so that is slowing me up. Ha ha. Doesn't like to stay on my shoulder as there is too much activity going on down here. He is the same when I am doing my puzzles. He bites my pen and starts eating my pages. So cheeky!

Looking forward to a productive day today cooking. I am going to do a pork roast and make a chocolate cake and maybe some muffins for lunch box treats. I love my Mondays and am really going to miss it when I do get back to 5 days work in another month. I think that is the big thing I miss, cooking. I have some handy quick meals but sometimes you get so slack after work and it is hard not to short cut and not make it as well as you would if you plan ahead and take your time. Need to really be organised.
My son has really been trying these past few weeks and his attendence at school has improved so much and he is trying so much harder to do the right thing. He has been picked for the school basketball team and he has lots of incentives. Everyone has been giving him positive feedback and so he has been trying. I am happy about that. I also think the loss of the x-box has been a blessing in disguise. He actually went and got a job at Maccas which he starts on Wednesday. He wants to get some cool clothes and stuff he says and he needs braces and the dentist needs $4800 which I could not afford to do but I have told him I will match him dollar for dollar in his saving so now he has something to work towards. Will force me to save too. Ha ha.
Anyway back to my cooking. Yippee!

After a week of the flu and spending a lot of time on the couch trying to recooperate it was great to have a cleaning weekend and get all the germs out the door. However I am still coughing a bit but it feels good to even see the floor now. James and I had a kid free weekend and spent the first night at my house and the second in his little caravan that he purchased for camping. I don't know when we will actually ever do that but it was pretty comfy and very cute. His housemate got back from India on Thursday and he got me a little gift from the Taj Mahal which was a necklace made out of rocks. Quite heavy but really intricate work. Waiting for the boys to get back now and hopefully we will have a much better week this week. Putting the break-in behind us. This week they should fix up the window so we can get back to normal as it is quite dark in the hall and laundry with the window boarded.
