What's new?

Nothing really, same stuff, different day. Haven't had the boys all week so been walking most nights, trying to take different walk trails so that it doesn't become boring but a great time to do it is around this time every night, which is 7pm, and I will be taking a walk soon, before I head over to James as I have spent a couple of nights there watching DVDs. Thursday night I parked in the city and walked up the massive hill to Kings Park and then did the wildflower walk and saw the new boab tree. I didn't get photos this time but will take them next time. It is an awesome scenery up there. You can tell I love my sceneries and so glad I am in this beautiful city sometimes.

Tomorrow the boys are coming back as it is fireworks night Monday night and we will go into the city to watch it. I am about to upload some photos of the boys over the road at the cricket nets and when they are here then we sometimes go over and play some cricket as Kiza wants the training as he has started playing. A bit late in the season but he wanted to get back into his sports so that is why we are going over to practice. I am sure I will be doing a lot of that this week.

Went and seen a new lady to start working with her on a Friday because I can hardly believe it but the twins I have been minding for over 4 years now are starting school, so next week is my last week there. How sad is that? They grow up way too fast! The other kids I met were very adorable although I can see the little boy will be a lot of work. LOL So that is very exciting. Good for a change. Haven't heard about my start date for my TAFE course that I am doing externally but Nik starts back on the first Monday of February. Then we will be back to waking very early. He really should catch the bus this year as it is so stressful trying to drop him before work when it is out of my way so I will look into the possibility of that.

Anyway will get the cricket photos up and get out for my walk before the sun goes down. Hope everyone has a great Australia day weekend. Nice to have the Monday off. Every second car seems to have the Australia flag on it today. Kiza bought one for his car! LOL

Back to routine

by August88Comment Published at 17:4617:463 comments3 comments23 Visits23 VisitsReport

Finally settling in to the reality again after holidays. On the final weekend of holidays we took a trip out to sea in a boat. Well, did I find out the hard way that I get sea sick! LOL So as they were fishing away I was providing the burlee and it wasn't even rough weather. Oh well now I know I will not make a good fisherman.

I have started a 12 week parenting course and so every Wednesday night I have been going to this group and it is really interesting and I am learning so much and you find that you are not alone as there are many parents going through issues with there teens and we get to support each other and talk about what we are doing that is helping or not. Each week is a different topic, such as effective communication, setting boundaries and family dynamics of families in trouble. I am glad that I am going and will be keeping that up every week.

Today I am having a tupperware party for Kelly so hope that we get some people turn up as it is a hot day today. At least it has got me to clean my house up and I have contacted so many of my friends that I have just not had time to do, or thats what I tell myself. One friend I rang we worked out that we hadn't seen or heard from each other in over a year as we had both moved addresses since. Where does the time go? And lucky I still had her mobile because we could have lost contact. It is not the first time I have lost contact with friends that way.

Since it is school holidays we have gone to a few movies. Went with Kieron to watch Bedtime Stories when the boys were away last week at there dad's. Then watched 7 pounds with James and glad I didn't take the boys to that because I don't think they would have liked it as much. On Thursday I took Nik and Mark to Yes, Man! So funny. They have been here all week just playing video games and hanging around home while I work but Thursday afternoon I have off so we went to the movies. They go back to there dad's today for a week so should be a quiet week. At least Kiza is here as he has to work so he doesn't go to his dad's in holidays now. Anyway we are all settling back into the routine of life again. All the best for 2009 because I am sure the year will just blur past like the last!

Has been a great holiday

by August88Comment Published at 04:5904:593 comments3 comments22 Visits22 VisitsReport

It went so fast too. Did it have to end so soon. Was a quiet christmas but so nice. I was at a resort in Mandurah so that was really great. The kids had a great time with there dad too. On Boxing day we had a great day at the beach with my side of the family and then went to the drags to see the nitro funny cars. It was so loud but the boys loved it. It is really exciting when they race. The best time was about 5 seconds down the quarter mile. That is moving!

Nik, Mark and myself have just got back from a holiday in Geraldton. We spent from Tuesday til today there. Apart from picking the hottest days to be travelling it was a great holiday. A friend invited us up there and we stayed at a caravan park, visited other friends that I knew from up there and went to the wildlife park. It was a quiet new year also but that is the way I like it. We spent some time on the beach new years eve, there were quite a few people fishing and they catch some decent size fish there too. I took some pics at the widlife park

Well tomorrow the boys are going back to there dads for the weekend and I am going away with James to Murray Lakes, then it is back to work Monday and the end of the holidays. We have done so much this holidays. It has been fantastic. One bad thing that happened on the holiday was that Nik got really sunburnt walking back to the caravan from the shops. Nearly 20kms and all because we had an arguement the stubborn mule. He did share a lot of the driving with me but we had a fight about him driving that leg and noone was backing down. My friend went back to pick him up and he had walked 16kms with only a singlet and no hat or suncream. He has blisters as it was 42 degrees so he didn't pick the best day. That was a very emotional day for me as you can imagine. Happy new year everyone
