So over food

Comment Published at 18:5018:509 comments9 comments26 Visits26 VisitsReport

I seriously have, I have gone off so many foods that I'm struggling to find things I'll actually eat! I have lost weight, not gained it. I used to be the girl who loved hot and spicy. The more exotic, the more I liked it. My husband jokes that I'd put Tabasco on icecream if I could. But now that I'm pregnant, I can barely even look at the stuff!

Other things off the list are olives (and I just love them), salsa, tomato based pasta sauces, sausages, chicken and in fact, virtually all meats. I really hope this doesn't last the whole pregnancy, as the only things I am craving are cheese, dry biscuits, plain pasta and potato chips. I can barely cook dinner of a night because I just can't decide on something that would make the whole family happy. If I had my way, I'd be eating pasta with cheese on it every night. The sight of raw meat makes me gag so meat preparation duties have all gone to my husband.

The joys of being pregnant!

Re: So over food

I know how you feel! With my first I lost 15kg - I couldn't eat anything much & there was no way I could cook meat so hubby cooked every night while I went to a far away part of the house! LOL! With my second I was sick too but as I wasn't driving 50km to & from work everday it wasn't quite as bad thank goodness (I had a 1 year old to chase too). Hope you are feeling better & able to eat soon!

And yet I am on a food binge! lol.  Know what you are going through though, not easy, and I have only put on 4 kgs since getting pregnant.  Hope you start to feel better soon.

Re: So over food

LOL that is funny. I went totally off those continental pasta packs. The smell made me spew!! Another thing that made me spew was the smell of cigarettes... and I smoked so I quit very fast!!

Re: So over food

Thats pregnancy for you!  I hope it soon passes

When I was preggers all I wanted was very bland food and lots and lots of milk drinks.  I also used to love spicy food, and nine months after having my son the spicy food is slowing coming back!

Take care - Angie
