I started my son on a potty chair the same way. He got pretty comfortable with it, but for a short time and lost interest so I put it away. A few months later, he was showing interest again though.
By the way, how do you like AZ? My hubby and I lived there for a couple of years...in Phoenix. We loved it, of course except for about 4 or so months when it gets hot as hell.
