5 Ways to Reduce Stress

Comment Published at 13:2113:210 comments0 comments20 Visits20 VisitsReport

Do you ever feel like you are falling apart both mentally and physically ?
Everyone has at one time or other in their lives. The toll that family, work, school, friends and life can have on our bodies and minds can lead to stress. It does not have to be that way. You can start today to make a conscious decision to deal with stress.

Today, we will discuss some ways you can reduce stress.

1.The five minute rule:
Try to be five minutes early. This may not sound like a lot of time but it will save you a lot of stress. I take the bus and train to work. So five minutes could the difference between getting to work on time or not. If I miss my bus ,then I miss my train and then I get in almost 30 later than I usually do. If my bus come at 745AM, then I try to be at the bus stop at 740AM not 745AM. This is less stressful than trying to get the bus at exactly 745AM. I am sure the five minutes rule could make a huge difference in your life as well. Also trying to be five minutes early for our daughter’s appointment help us to stay calm.

2.Go For A Walk
When I get stressed at work I go for a walk. When you go for this walk leave work related stress at the office and concentrate on relaxing. Usually when you get back to the office things are better. There is a park close by my workplace so on lunch I would take some time to just sit and relax and enjoy the view .

3.Talk About It:
It is amazing how you could reduce stress by simply talking about it. My wife and I regularly have deep conversions about what we are worried about and how we could resolve or improve those issues. Bottling up your worries will only make them worst. The people closest to you sometimes see what you don’t.

4.Laugh more:
Life is short so enjoy it. We are serious at work, home, school. When was the last time you got down on the floor and played and had a laugh with your child ? When we are home we should be happy and relaxed. We should look forward to going home and being with our families. When you display stress and anxiety your children might be afraid to approach you. They might ever be afraid and hate you because “daddy or mommy is always angry and upset”. When we are home we have to have a sense of humor. Don’t cry over life;rather, laugh and be happy with it. You will set a good example for you kids.

5.Go to Sleep:
Getting enough sleep could drastically reduce stress. When we don’t sleep we are irritable and short tempered. Research has shown that we need between 6 to 9 hours of sleep. Are you ?If not try it tonight and you will feel the difference the next day .
