Hi there to anyone who's reading this!
Im currently away from home visiting my family at the moment and my god have things been hectic! I wasn't coping very well at home as we live 4hrs away from mine and my husbands families. I was sooooo tired from never getting a break and my baby, who WAS sleeping 8-9hrs straight at night and about 8-9 throughout the day, decided he wanted to wake up every 5hrs at night and turned into a catnapper through the day. I was exhausted.
We were going to come for the weekend as I had arranged a V8supercar drive for my husband for his birthday but I asked my mum if me and the kids could stay a whole week because I desperately needed a break and a little relaxation. Ofcourse she was over the moon that she would get her grandson's for a whole week, so we packed up the kids and the car and here we are.
The real question is am I getting the relaxation I sorely needed...... NO! haha. We got down on the wednesday afternoon and i spent the afternoon showing my new baby off to my mother. The next day we were off to the supercar drive meaning we were up at 6 and out the door at 7. I had a bit of a cry as this was the first time I had left the baby with anyone other than my husband. To make matters worse he was asleep when we left and I was scared he would wake up and think we had abandoned him.
I got over the tears after a txt message from my mum saying he was awake and smiling his little head off. We had a fantastic time at the supercars! My husband is a big fan and spends most weekends glued to the tv watching these silly cars go around in circles all day. He did his training and he was finally allowed to drive. He got 5laps with the help of an "in-car instructor". He absolutely loved it! I think it was one of the best experiences of his life... that''s a big call to make, i know but he did tell me over lunch afterwards that he wanted to be a race car driver. haha it was soooo cute!
Anyway, after we had finished with the cars and had a nice lunch out we drove back to my mothers place to pick up the kids and head off to my sister inlaws place. We were there for 20mins when we got a call to pack up and go to my mother inlaws place. Between my husbands 2 sisters there are 2 boys aged 5 and 8 then they have a baby each that are both under 2. Plus my 2 aged 2months and 10yrs plus 2 dogs that belong to mother inlaw. Lets just say it was a very noisy and chaotic afternoon. We didnt get back to my mums place until about 6.30pm. We were all knackered, the baby went straight to bed and slept for 10hrs!
Next day wasnt much different. We went shopping for a new computer desk which took us all over town, then picked the baby up and went to buy some lunch to take to sister inlaws house. Had lunch, then got kicked out because her husband had a job interview over the phone, so we walked to the park. When we got back we were once again summoned to mother inlaws house where kids and dogs made a racket then home again by 7.
Saturday it was my families turn to drive me nuts, we had a bbq at my mums house. Up at 6 and getting everything ready, visitors, visitors visitors...... Finally fell into bed at 9.30 after all the clean up.
Sunday my husband went to his sisters place and I thought I would go shopping. I have no clothes that fit at the moment everything either too big or too small. tried to go shopping in my home town just jeans (my absolute favourite shop) and nothing fit there. They had 1 pair of size 16 pants in the whole bloody shop! I tried on a few tops that all clinged to my baby belly and the shop assistant actually told me I should go to target! Nothing against target, I do buy some of my clothes from there but this woman was telling me i was too fat for her shop! I could have knocked her down. So I waited to get down here and I had a ball at Just jeans in a different shopping center and found my size and spent $150! oops! I did say that it was my favourite shop. So after that we did lunch at sister inlaws with babies and sisters screaming then came back to my mums, where my husband left to go back to work and i tried unsucessfully to have a nap before my neices came over.
My nieces arrived in tears because one wanted to go for a swim and the other one didnt want to sleep over. My sister had to be a witness at court the next day and couldnt drive them to school so i told my niece to go home with her mother and i would pick her up in the mornign and take her to school. So baby decided to wake every 5hrs and wake up at 5am when he heard my dad going to work. I followed through though and took my nieces to school then went shopping for an extension strap for the baby seat in the car..... My father tried to install it himself to save me $20 on the strap and he all bar got out the duct tape in trying to get it to fit properly. haha you should have seen it! I refused to put my child in it telling my father that in the event of an accident his new grandson would be thrown through the back window..... He failed to see how that would happen... I should have taken a photo! It was hilarious.
So i had my car seated fitted properly to my mums car and was looking forward to a relaxing morning at my eldest sisters house chatting about our babies..... NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. My other sister rang and asked me to go to court with her because she was terrified the people she was testifying against were going to bash her,. So back in the car I got and spent the day at the court house trying to make my sister laugh. That didnt finish until after 3 then I had to go back to the first sisters house to collect my children and my mother then home for dinner. I went to bed at 8.30 last night on the sofa in the lounge room as I could no longer stand sleeping in with the baby. He makes noises as he drifts in and out of sleep that i usually cant hear through the monitor. Plus I think my foghorn snoring was waking him up.
So today is the first day I have had off since I got here and I am absolutely exhausted! I would have been better off at home i think hahaha............... Ohwell thats families for you isnt it.
