Got a phone call today from oscar's daycare saying he was sick-so i had to leave work to come and get him. I'm so sick and tired of being made to feel like my baby is an inconvenience to the workplace by my boss. (who has no kids). she doesn't say anything, but her tone and body language speak volumes. I wonder how many other working mums feel like this?

YAY! Friday-what a long week. We have the night off tonight-my wonderful parents (who find any excuse they can to come and see/steal oscar) have asked to have him for the night tonight. They were just having him for the day tomorrow, as we have a lot of work to do in the garden with various dangerous tools, but they thought they might as well take him tonight. He left waving at a million miles an hour with poppy-or as he is called 'poh'- its so nice to be missed!

Bring on a 10hr sleep!

Oscar went to sleep at 4:30 this morning! he fell asleep at 7:30, then woke up at 9, then crashed by 10, then he was up at 1 until 4:30-stuck him in his cot, thought i'd let him scream himself to sleep but no-he discovered he can almost climb out of the cot. i have to get up at 5:30 to start getting ready for work (we have to leave at 6:30 because we drop oscar at daycare first, i start at 7:30) and i stupidly fell asleep on the couch for an hour. which of course leaves you more exhausted than if i hadn't had any sleep at all.

my mum wants him to stay the night on friday-i'm willingly letting him go

1. What is your child's favourite book? Oscar loves Peek a boo, i love you. We read it over and over as he lifts up the flaps to see who's playing peek a boo!

2. What was your favourite childrens book? - I read absolutely anything i can get my hands on, but when i was younger i loved Red Sky in the Morning-its about a girl about 11 whose mum gives birth to a boy with hydrocephalus and how she deals with it all. A lovely touching novel.

3. Whats your childs favourite thing to eat? Oscar is an absolute guts, but at the moment i'd have to say watermelon.

4. Whats your favourite thing to eat? Anything that lives in the ocean. I love seafood

5. Whats your childs favourite toy? Its a toss up between his car, his harmonica or my handbag

6. Whats your favourite game? Anything that involves trivia-i am the queen of useless information.
