15 weeks.

by BrightonBelleComment Published at 04:2604:260 comments0 comments3 Visits3 VisitsReport

Now 15 weeks and all is well. I have started to feel the little fluttering of movement which is a relief after a couple of weeks of no pregnancy symptoms, plus the morning sickness has finally gone. I do however have the normal little pregnancy niggles such as getting up several times a night to pee but I have found something that helps - I rock backwards and forwards whilst having a pee and for a few seconds afterwards which apparently helps to completely empty the bladder, so far its worked and I have been getting up less. There's also the heartburn which I try to prevent by eating plain foods that aren't fatty or rich but sometimes something naughty slips in and hey presto heartburn.

I can't wait until my next scan at 20 weeks and even though we will be able to find out the sex of the baby we have decided not to, I like the surprise and even though we are on a budget there are enough cheaply available plain baby clothes plus I have a load of white clothes we kept after Amy grew out of them plus some of my friends have found out the sex of the baby and I feel it ruins the baby's arrival as people will just ask "Have you had your boy/girl yet" rather then asking what you had.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Feeling a little down.

by BrightonBelleComment Published at 06:3506:357 comments7 comments16 Visits16 VisitsReport

For the last couple of days I have been feeling a little low, now you would think that I have a lot of reasons to be happy - I have a wonderful husband that can't do enough for me, a beautiful daughter who is loving and caring and a long waited for new baby on the way so why do I feel like this? Its nothing like the depression that I have had before, not that deep despair just a little sad like I am mourning something. I keep trying to tell myself to stop being so selfish and stop this self indulgent moping but I can't seem to snap out of it. Maybe it is just pregnancy hormones and I am hoping that having the Hubby home this weekend will help left my mood, bless him he does put up with a lot and never moans about my mood swings.

Thank you for reading my moans.

13 weeks today!

I am pleased to report that I am finally feeling better, the morning sickness has gone and I am not feeling drained anymore. I am still waiting to feel the glow of pregnancy and the blooming that I keep reading about. The hubby has become very protective since the last scan and keeps putting his hand on my tummy which is nice but inconvient when I am cooking dinner or taking the drying to the machine.

All the girls at Mother and Toddler have been great and listened to me go on about my scan and loving the pictures so I would like to say a big thank you to them.

Amy isn't very interested in the baby but she did help me sort through her soft toys and picked out some she would like to give to the baby which I thought was lovely and it helped her to give some up to donate to the charity shop.

Have a very busy weekend planned  with the rest of the family so may be next week before I post another blog entry, the hubby has the weekend off (Hooray) so it will be nice to spend some time together.

Take care and keep well

12 week scan - All is well. (updated with pictures)

by BrightonBelleComment Published at 15:1815:1810 comments10 comments176 Visits176 VisitsReport

I am happy to say that all is well with Bubba and the scan went well. We have had a very long day and it started with an emergency (not me) I got a call from my sister who was at work, she had collapsed with severe pain in her pelvic area so I rushed to her workplace to find her on the floor shaking with pain fortunately she works in a pharmacy with a doctors surgery next door so a doctor was with her and had called an ambulance. The doctor diagnosed a burst cyst on her ovaries (my sister also has PCOS) and when we finally got to the hospital they agreed, fluid from the cyst had gone into the pelvic area causing the pain but as the fluid was absorbed by the body the pain died down, they released her this afternoon on strict instruction to rest.

I went straight from the hospital across town to my  midwife appointment then had to wait 20 minutes as they were running late. It was my booking in appointment so lots of paperwork and blood tests and I am pleased to say that all is well although the midwife did mention my weight (yes shock horror I'm fat!) and said she would have to keep an eye on my blood pressure I then tried to explain that I had all this with my last pregnancy and everything was fine, as I was explaining this she was taking my blood pressure and seemed shocked when it was actually spot on perfect then she asked if I would like to be referred to a clinic for pregnant women with high BMI as they can advise on diet and any complications due to being overweight, I replied with "if at anytime something arose during the pregnancy that could be linked directly to me being fat then I would gladly go but until that happens I felt I didn't need to attend" she seemed a little taken aback by my response but agreed to it. (All this after I had explained that my last pregnancy had been plain sailing and then I was 2 stone heavier then I am now!)Then it was too the supermarket to do the weekly shop, as the hubby works shifts this has to be fitted in when he has time off and that was today so we raced round then went straight home. I got Amy some lunch so she could eat while I put the shopping away then as soon as she was finished we were out of the door off to the hospital for the scan. Parking around our hospital is a nightmare and parking in the grounds is expensive so we parked a little way away then walked to the hospital which wasn't such a bright idea as it was a very warm day, Amy was fine as she was asleep in her buggy but by the time we got there (10 minutes before the appointment ) I was feeling a little faint then there was no one at reception so we had to stay around waiting to be booked in then when we did finally get to the waiting room there was the most annoying man waiting with his pregnant wife, this man insisted at talking very loudly to his wife who was sitting right next to him about some conference he had attended in a real geeks voice we had to bear this for half an hour as the ultrasound department was also running late but the wait was worth it as when I saw Bubba on the screen wriggling around and waving its arms and feet I was over the moon and couldn't stop smiling, we got a great picture (which I will have to post tomorrow as the scanner is playing up) Amy didn't seem to interested and just wanted to play with the "BIG PUTER"  which didn't amuse the sonographer, another appointment was made for 21st of August I asked how many weeks that would make me and she said 21 weeks, then we left, the long walk to the car just flew by as I was floating on air and when we reached the car we decided to go to my Mums to share the pictures it was whilst in the car that it dawned on me that the date she gave me would make me more then 21 weeks so I got out my notes to check my due date and that was still 21/11/2008 no change there so I got my diary out to check how many weeks I would be on 21st August it worked out to 27 weeks! they had got it wrong so I now have to phone back in the morning to rearrange the appointment and I should be 21 weeks around the time of my 32nd birthday.

We had tea at mums and got home for 9pm and put Amy straight to bed it has been a very long day for such a wee thing.

It is now 11:15 so I will end it here and go to bed.

Night night

Scan and Midwife appointments today.

by BrightonBelleComment Published at 22:4522:454 comments4 comments12 Visits12 VisitsReport

I have had a sleepless night - I have my 12 week scan today and my booking appointment with the midwife - so the little sleep I did get was filled with some very strange dreams, I dreamt that when we saw the baby on the screen it turned its head and grinned at us, I know this may sound sweet but it scared the life out of me.

I am very excited and anxious that all is well, I haven't had any signs that things aren't OK but now that my morning sickness has stopped I don't really have any symptoms of pregnancy so this has me worried to (I know that I complained about being sick but at least it reminded me I was pregnant)

We are taking Amy to the scan so she can see the baby, some members of the family tend to think this isn't a great idea but I want her involved, I know that there is a small possibility that things may not go to plan and if they did spot a problem then having her there may not be ideal but I can't think negative I want to keep positive so having Amy there is a happy memory for her.

I will share my news as soon as I can after the appointment but we have a very busy day so it may not be until this evening.

Keep well.

12 weeks today!

by BrightonBelleComment Published at 13:0313:034 comments4 comments11 Visits11 VisitsReport

Finally I am at the 12 week stage and now in my 2nd trimester, I am relieved that I have come this far with no problems although I don't think I will breath a sigh of relief until I have had my scan on Monday and have seen for myself that all is well.

The Morning sickness has finally subsided (although there are still some smells that make me heave) and I am not feeling as tired. I have however had a pain in my pelvis and have been diagnosed with mild SPD, the pain is worse when I am in bed and try to turn over during the night and after reading some advice on my friend Minti I am going to invest in a body pillow or possibly make one out of an old duvet cover and a couple of pillows (if the sewing machine stops scaring me!)

Well sorry it's short but all being well on Monday I will post my new scan photos.

Please all keep well.
