To live in Australia makes me proud, to have friends nieghbors and workmates who may not necessarily have been born here, yet they value our country as I do. Who love or care about one another without judgement. To respect one anothers points of view, cultures and beliefs. WE ARE A MULTICULTURAL NATION, pity that many people forget that their forefathers are not native Australians....
I personally don't care if someones been living here 5 minutes, 5 years, or 55 years. As far as I am concerned if you abide (not necessarily agree) with our laws and policies. And you do all that I have stated above, then naturalized or not I do consider you A fellow Aussie.
And are proud to say so, I don't care about the colour of your skin, how or why you came here, how long you intend to stay, how many children you have or don't have, weather you have a big or small house, work 10 hours a week or 40+.....for none of this is my choices, but yours. BUT I DO CARE, that you are safe, well in your mind and body, and respect me as I do you. For those who come here for a better life, one without the contant threats of violence and death, I so hope you find a home here. I know we have a lot of issues here that need fixing, homelessness for one. But that falls upon our government to try and fix these issues.
Over the past two months we as a family have been battling the sad reality that one of our own has lost his loved ones brother and two 20 year old nephews, in what I can only describe as a tradgey, which will unfold for other families time and time again. I don't want to talk about the right or wrongs of people getting here, because they want a safer life. I just want someone to find a solution. GOD if your listening please help us find one.
Ali is still in Indonesia, just waiting for his brothers body to be released so he can have him burried. Looks like he won't be able to take him home to his family, sadly because he is an Australian Citizen and his brother an Afgan who was with his family living in Pakistan, so they won't because of redtape release him (brother's body), , to Ali. Catch 22, his family can't come to claim him, they have no money or passports, Ali who has both the passport and the money to take his brother home isn't allowed. Beurocrisy at it's best.
Ali was on the 7.30 report talking about the long wait to resolve things and whats been happening, he has been in Indonesia since 2 days before christmas. I will put the link to the story on here if anyone wishes to take a look.
