Baby sitting and going away

Comment Published at 18:0018:0011 comments11 comments19 Visits19 VisitsReport

Yesterday i had my first experience looking after 2 babies on my own... OH MY GOD!!!!! That is hard work!!! I was babysitting Matilda, a friends 16 month old baby. She is a lovely girl, but very demanding. She is also currently in leg braces because she had to have something done to her hip... She was very well behaved considering... However, Austin!! My darling son... he wouldnt eat or sleep. Little bugger just wanted to play. I ended up laying down with him, once Matilda was asleep, just so that he would close his eyes.

I did learn one thing from this very short experience... I wont be having another child just yet LOL. Then again, i suppose it is easier when they are both yours. Matilda and Austin barely know each other. It would probably have been different if it was April.

Here are some pics...

Telling Tilly off for not sharing her cup LOL

Well that was pretty much my day yesterday...

Tomorrow Shannon and i are off to Inverell for the weekend to see his grandmother. She is 89 and dying. She hasn't met Austin yet, so we are taking him up there to meet her. Hopefully it wont be too big a weekend. I am not really looking forward to it. But we are doing something nice for an old lady and that makes me feel good. I just hope she is nicer to me in person than she is on the phone... LOL

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

See you all on Tuesday! xoxoxox

Cass, they look like they had a great time.  Have a good weekend and I'm sure she'll be fine, probably wrapped in seeing Austin.

Looks like the little ones had a great time! lol.  Yeah, 2 babies at once is a handful, says she who's broken her own record and expecting her 3 baby in 3 years! lol  Previous being 2 in 2 with a gap between next 3! lol.

Hope you have a great weekend.  Take the phone with you, and if she isn't nice, tell her to call someone who likes being spoken to that way.  Oh, I am sooooo mean.

Hey Cass,

I think your right if it was another chld that Austin had known it may have been easier..Glad you got throught the day tho and they looked like they had a lot of fun together..

I hope you enjoy your weekend with Shannon, and i hope his Grandma isnt nasty to you, i guess they have no patience when they get old, ive noticed older people in my family come across rude now.

Hahahaha.........great way to put yourself off having kid's. My friend's partner wants 6 kid's and I've offered them my kid's for the weekend to help but sadly they haven't taken me up on it...lol

I hope you have a nice weekend.

It is hard when they are little.  When i look after my friends son Kaelan just wants to hit him for some reason.  Kaelan is one so i don't think he's trying to deliberately hurt him and the other little boy is 6 months and barely sitting so he can't escape....I'd spend the whole time just worried about him getting damaged and protecting him!    Very stressful, lucky they both had naps.

Hope you have a nice weekend and it's not too torturous.

Hey Cass,

Great Pics,  I couldn't imagine looking after 2 babies, it's hard enough looking after on.  At least you didn't have to do the overnight duty that would be the hardest if the both got up and different times, during the night.

Hope your visit with Shannons grandma goes ok.  Just take it easy and don't stress (easier said than done)

I am going to have a fab w/end, bub free night on Saturday. (sort of we're going out)

Re: Baby sitting and going away

it is hard looking after 2 kids similar in age. Alex is 23 months older than Charle and it was dificult to do as you were trying to feed charlie and he would be off and about in the house getting into trouble. I was saved by those gate things across the door ways. i had 3 of them.

it does get easyer you just have to find the tricks. but definately with friends it is harder. cause the new kid doesnt know the other childs rules and believe me the have them. LOL Alex goes mental when his cousins come over and touch his stuff.
