Well i knew this day would come... Around my loungeroom i have barracades set up so that Austin couldnt get into the kitchen because that is where our fire place is... We have had the fire going for a few weeks now and he has just sort of been standing at the barracade staring at it.

This morning i was chatting on msn to Kayla, thinking that my little darling was playing in the loungeroom, when all of the sudden i hear this coughing / choking sort of noise... I bolted (probably quicker than i ever have in my life) out to where he was.. and the cheeky little bugger was standing up at the fire place and he had a handful and a mouth full of ash!!!!!! He had managed to climb over the barracade, get past the fire screen protector thingys and get to the fireplace... Thank god that it wasnt turned on!!!

So i guess the moral to this story is, i wont be on the computer while he is awake anymore LOL.

Yesterday i had my first experience looking after 2 babies on my own... OH MY GOD!!!!! That is hard work!!! I was babysitting Matilda, a friends 16 month old baby. She is a lovely girl, but very demanding. She is also currently in leg braces because she had to have something done to her hip... She was very well behaved considering... However, Austin!! My darling son... he wouldnt eat or sleep. Little bugger just wanted to play. I ended up laying down with him, once Matilda was asleep, just so that he would close his eyes.

I did learn one thing from this very short experience... I wont be having another child just yet LOL. Then again, i suppose it is easier when they are both yours. Matilda and Austin barely know each other. It would probably have been different if it was April.

Well that was pretty much my day yesterday...

Tomorrow Shannon and i are off to Inverell for the weekend to see his grandmother. She is 89 and dying. She hasn't met Austin yet, so we are taking him up there to meet her. Hopefully it wont be too big a weekend. I am not really looking forward to it. But we are doing something nice for an old lady and that makes me feel good. I just hope she is nicer to me in person than she is on the phone... LOL

My week away was great. I left at about 5.30 on monday morning and had a very good drive to the coast. I got there just before lunch time i think. From now on i'll be leaving that early every time!

On monday, we all got to Aunty Jens place. Once we were settled and had had a coffee, we headed down the street to pick up some stuff for dinner and then headed down to watch the pelicans being fed. It was quite cool. I have never seen it before, so i was intrigued.

Monday night we had a few drinks. I found out a load of stuff about my family i never knew. It was very very cool. I found out that the man who i have thought was my grandfather my whole life, is actually not. So god knows where i actually come from!!!!!!! We also watched a house fire down the street from Aunty Jens Balcony. It was massive. We didnt know if was a house or a tree. Turns out it was a house, but i dont think anyone was living in it. Luckily.

Tuesday was my birthday, and Austin seemed to know that i wanted to relax, so naturally, he played up a little. We went out and had lunch, he sooked and whinged the whole time. Grrrr. When we got back to Aunty Jens, i put him down for a nap and he slept for 2 hours! Hooray!!

When he woke up we headed down to the water and took some pics..

Tuesday night i went and stayed with Brad and Paulene (my boss and his wife from Sydney). Uh i was so tired i think i had a glass of wine with them and went to bed!! Was great to see them thou, they love Austin. Spoil him rotten when they see him. They have been married 24 years and were never able to have kids, so they simply adore our kids.

Wednesday i went off to meet Cathy (cathbusymum). It was great. She is so lovely. Very friendly and easy to talk to! I didnt even realise how long i was there for until i called my sister and realised i wouldnt be back in time to pick her son up from school (whole other story there) Anyway, Sami is seriously the most beautiful young woman i have ever met. She is such a gentle soul. She played with Austin and Keiraleah most of the time i was there. Keiraleah is beautiful too. She was quite quiet while i was there, but Cath assured me she is usually very loud LOL. Oh and the twins!!! OMG i have never seen such tiny little babies! they are adorable!! Makes me want twins now LOL!

Umm Wednesday i stayed at Angeliques place and we did nothing. Thank GOD!!! I was exhausted!

Thursday was a special day! We went out to meet up with Natasha and Melissa. Unfortunately Danielle (the other twin) was unable to make it so it was just the 4 of us. Tash was my best friend in primary school and we figured out that it was about 14 years since we last saw each other. Danielle and Melissa were my sisters best friends too.

So we spent a couple of hours chatting away. It wasn't awekward or anything, which is sort of what i expected. But it was like we picked up where we left off!

Well that was my week!

Basically.

Other than all of that, Austin was not sleeping very well. He woke up most nights about 5 times. He was better last night thou, so i am hoping that it was just the portacot that he didnt like.

Shannon and i had a talk last night and i told him that i need him home. He said that he is going to ask to come back to Dubbo to work. It may take a few weeks to a few months for them to get him back here, but at least i know he is going to try to get back here now. Which makes me feel a whole heap better.

And i am now officially on the downhill slope to 30!! I turn 26 today and i can honestly say at the moment that i feel about 36 pmsl. My darling baby has been giving me a hard time lately. While he was sick with croup i was nursing him to sleep coz when he cried he couldn't breath.. well now he expects that ggrrrrr.

Today he has decided that naps arent important. He only slept for 20 mins in the morning and then whinged for 3 hours straight.. He has now been asleep for about an hour and i am hoping he wakes up in a better mood!!..... Babies. How does such a little creature make you feel so warm and fuzzy and frustrated all at once with the greatest of ease???

I am blogging from The Entrance today. I am here with my Aunty, My Sister and her Fiance and Tyson.. I will post some pics later on when i get some more time online. I am heading over to visit some friends tonight. I will be in Sydney tomorrow and we are catching up with Kylie and Marc tomorrow arvo and then Tash, Danielle and Melissa on Thursday. I think when i get home i will need a holiday from my holiday!!

Well i thought i would quickly jump on here and wish all the Mummy's a happy Mothers Day! I hope you have all have spectacular days and have been spoilt rotten!!.

My day has been pretty average. I didnt get to sleep in , Shannon is in his usual "sunday mood" which is the one where he grumps around all day barely speaking a word to me. Which has made my day .. well.. not so happy... I did get lots of kisses and cuddles from Austin thou, so that cheered me up a little! God bless children. Seems they know just what to do sometimes.

Tomorrow i am off to the central coast. I am sooo excited. I will get to spend my birthday on tuesday with my sister, nephew and Aunty. I will also be catching up with some friends while i am there. Then i am heading down to Sydney on Wednesday and i am catching up with my primary school best friend who i found again thru facebook. I haven't seen her in, well, over 12 years. We are also catching up with old friends of ours who i havent seen in about 7 years. I am so looking forward to it.

Anyway, i hope that my birthday is a happier occation than Mothers day was

I just noticed we have a new homepage layout! It looks great! But i think it is going to take me a while to get used to scrolling down for my friends list!!

I took my dog to my Dad's house today because i am going away next week and cant take her with me. It was a quick visit as i had to get home to feed out great dane. Dad was ok. He was not having the best day, but he always enjoys the time he spends with Austin. It cheers him up.

When i got home i called dad to let him know we got home safely and my dad says to me "i dont know what i'm going to do" Well naturally i thought something was wrong with him and i would have to go back there. I was not looking forward to the 2 hours drive back there. Then he says to me "Someone has shot Emilia" and he burst into tears. Emilia was a miniture maltese, she was their main breeding bitch and she was such a lovely Animal.

How could a person do this? Why would you shoot an innocent animal? One who is no threat to anything or anyone? The worst part is, that she was just outside their front gate - my dad is on a property - so she must have crawled under the gate.

My dad is a mess. I am a mess. I have cried for nearly 2 hours. I called Shannon and he managed to cheer me up a little. But i am still sitting here wondering... why????? With the occational tear running down my face.  

Well our night last night was a little better. Austin is still having difficulty breathing while he is asleep and woke up a few times in a bit of a panic i think. He did sleep all the way thru from 1am til 7 thou, so i was happy with that.

The doctor said that his chest has cleared up alot and that he sounds much better now than he did on Tuesday night. I'm happy about that, but he also said that there isnt alot that i can do to help him get past this quickly. He basically told me that i just have to let it run it's course. I think i will keep the vaporiser going and rubbing baby vicks on his chest thou. I know how much i hate not being able to breathe properly, so i dont want him feeling that. For too long anyway...

Shannon is due home any minute (YAY) It has been such a long week and yet it feels like yesterday was Monday.. I cant wait to see him. I'm sure Austin will be happy too!

YAY!! Congrat to everyone else who has gone gold today!!

I feel like i havent been here for days... Oh wait, i haven't!!

Our weekend with Shannon was good. Not that i can really remember that far back now!!

We went over to Dad's on Monday and stayed the night. Austin had a great time! It was soooo cold thou. It's crazy that in town it was about 10deg warmer than out on the farm. Oh well i guess thats what you get for living in the hills hey!!
Dad and Chris have bought a little miniature horse. He is so cute, about 7 hands high. He is only 5 months old at the moment, and hasnt been handled much, but he is adorable. I cant wait til he is old enough to be broken in.

When i brought Austin home on Tuesday he was fine, we got home about 3 i guess and we went up to visit his Aunty and cousin at 4. While we were driving up there, i had to pull over because i thought Austin was choking. He was making this aweful barking sound, got it was scary. Anyway, he wasnt choking so we headed up to Melissas house and he seemed to be having a really hard time breathing. When i brought him home again he had a bath and bottle and i put him down to sleep. About 1/2 hour later he was screaming. The poor thing couldn't breath.

I called the hospital and they advised me to bring him up to see them. I got there at about 7.30, He was checked out by 3 doctors, 2 thought he had croup, 1 thought it was bronchialitis (sp) so they treated him for both at first, they gave him some ventalin and then some steroids and waited 1/2 hour to see how he reacted. Nothing changed so they admitted him into pediatrics for the night. My poor little man sounded aweful, I really dont think i have slept for more than 4 hours each night for the past 2 nights. So we stayed at the hospital over night. I was glad to be there. I am not normally someone who rushes to the doctor or hospital when something is wrong, but i was so scared. I have never heard anything like it...

Anyway, they checked him out yesterday morning and after lots of umms and ahhs they decided he could come home, but they gave me some sort of thing so that if he got bad again i could go back to pediatrics without going thru emergency again. My MIL came over and stayed the night with us, thank god, coz i doubt i could have dealt with it on my own. He was fine all day yesterday, well not fine, but better, and then again last night he was aweful. He was awake every hour til about 12 and then i had to take him to bed with me so we could all get some sleep.

Today he is ok, he is sounding like whatever is in his chest has broken up and he now just has to cough it up. I have a follow up appointment with the doctor who saw him on Tuesday night today, so i hope he says that he is ok.

I guess all i can do is keep on doing what i have been doing. One thing i am grateful for is that even while he has been so sick, he is still happy, smiling, laughing, playing. He just has his sooky moments every now and then. But they dont last long.
