I was sooo hoping for a break in the teething thing!! But it just wasnt meant to be. Last night Austin had a slightly unsettled night. Nowhere near as bad as last week, but he did wake a couple of times and just didnt want to sleep on his own. I didnt realise there were more teeth coming so i left him to cry when he woke up at 2. Then he woke up at 4.30 and he was screaming. I made him a bottle up and brought him to bed. He still didnt want to sleep, but he eventually did.
When i was giving him his breakfast thismorning, i noticed that another one of his canine's have cut thru and there are the little white bumps where his other bottom 1 year old molar is coming up.
I feel so aweful that i made him cry last night. I didnt even think that it was teeth. After last week i guess i was really hoping and praying that it wasnt.
Oh well.. All i can say is "here we go again"
I really hope that he isnt as bad this time as he was last time. I may have to offer him out free to good home if he is! LOL
On an up note he really doesnt have that many left to get!! 3 i think and then his 2 year old molars - which of course will probaby come in when he is 14 months old PMSL!!
Not much else has been happening here. I have been finding it difficult to keep on top of the daily chores lately. I never realised how difficult it is with a baby who is mobile. At least before i could barracade him off and he would stay in the loungeroom. Now he just climbs over that, so that wont work anymore. He is obssessed with the cupbourds now - well all doors actually - and sits in the kitchen and bathroom opening and closing them. He has a very particular fascination with the cupboard with the glasses in it. gggrrr i need to get the safety latches on!
Today my in-laws are coming over to pick up some stuff they left here while they were moving and bringing Shannons ute back, so i better get going and try to tidy up this house. God knows what i am going to do if they come over every second day!!
Hope everyone has a great day!! |

This weekend went by very quickly. It seems as thou it should only be sunday morning, not monday. Saturday and sunday Shannon had to go and help out his parents move over here. I still havent gone over there yet because i thought Austin would try to "help" LOL Might go today and check out their new house.
Austin has been quite the show off for the past couple of days and has been taking lots of steps! He has been walking from Daddy to Mummy and back again and also taking a few steps to get a top he wants. I think he will be off and running very soon!
No more teeth have popped up! Which is great because the little monster that was living in my house last week was going to be evicted if he kept it up for much longer LOL. Well not really, but i couldnt have dealt with it for much longer i dont think.
Shannon and i are going down to Sydney over night in September to go to a concert and his mum has offered to look after Austin for us so we can go alone! It will be the first time since he was born that i have left him over night, and it will be for almost 2 days! I am a little nervous, but i am excited too. It will be great to get to go out at night time and not have to worry about what time we come back!
Thats about it for now! Hope everyone has a great week!

After a few aweful nights and days with Austin, he is finally on the mend again. He has been his normal happy self again today - thank god!! - and i am feeling much better for it.
The result of all the tears and screaming? Austins 12th and 13th tooth!!! 1 molar down the bottom, and 1 eye tooth up the top. Poor bugger. I have a feeling i may be going thru this again soon too. his 2 molars at the top have cut the pointy bits, but the flat bits arent thru yet and the other bottom molar is bumpy... Well at least i sort of know what to expect now.
I ended up taking him over to my MIL's place on Thursday because i couldnt deal with the screaming anymore. He didn't eat anything all day. He did however finally have a bottle before he went to bed on Thurs night. I was happy for that. So all in all he had 1 bottle and about 60mls of water all day. Everything elsei offered him either landed on the floor or in my hair LOL. Thurs night he didnt sleep well again. He woke every hour or so and he wasnt happy about being in the porta-cot so he was very restless.
Last night he must have just been exhausted - plus daddy was home - because he slept all night. He woke up at 5.15 thismorning, but i can deal with that after a full night's sleep.
Tomorrow my in-laws are moving around the corner from me. I am not exactly sure how i feel about this yet. I sort of like them close enough to visit every now and then. But i am not sure if i like the idea that they could just "pop in" whenever they feel like it. I may have to set some boundary rules.
Well that is about it for now.
Austin is 1 in 14 days!!! I cant believe a whole year has passed already. Where the hell did the time go??? |

Last night Austin woke up about every hour. Hysterical. I have no idea what is going on with him. If this is teeth, it must be a doosey coz he has never been this bad before.
He woke up at 6 this morning and i thought he would be starving considering how much he was up and down last night. But no. He hasn't eaten a thing. He also wont drink his bottle. I am seriously stressing out at the moment. I dont know what to do.
He is currently in his cot sooking. But i have to just leave him there and hope he goes to sleep. I cant handle being screamed at anymore for the moment.
I dont know if i should take him to the doctors and have him checked out, or if i should just wait and see how he goes today. I dont know how long they can go without food or water?!?!?!
Well anyway. i just hope he gets better soon. |

Today has been a nightmare. Austin woke up at 3.45am screaming his head off. And after i gave him a bottle it took me ages to get him back to sleep... I knew it would be a bad day from then...
He woke up at 7 again.. screaming. He barely ate all day. He slept for about half an hour in the morning and when he woke up i thought ok, we'll go down to mainly music and have a bit of a dance. Well he was fine there, but as soon as i put him in the car he started crying again. So i brought him home, tried to give him lunch but he wouldnt have a bar of it, so i put him down for a nap. It took me about an hour to get him to settle and then he woke up about 40 mins after he had finally gone to sleep. So when i got him out of bed, i layed down with him and had a cuddle and he fell asleep again (YAY) So i thought, bugger it i will have a nap too. He woke up again at about 2.30 (screaming).
We went out for a walk - i would have tried anything to calm him today - it was a bit cold and windy, but it distracted him enough to stop crying while we were out.
When we got home we went down to best and less to get him some pj's. And YET AGAIN i bought size 1 pj's and the bloody bottoms are size 2!! He still doesnt fit into size 1 pants!!! So i am taking them back tomorrow. Hopefully they will just give me another pair of pants.
I really wish i knew what was wrong with him. I have given him panadol incase it is teeth, but it doesnt seem to be helping. I hope he isnt sick...
Anyway, gotta run, he is awake again |

Last night when i went to bed, i layed there for a couple of minutes doing the mental check, yes the doors are locked, yes the dogs were fed, yes Austin is covered up and warm.. Right i can sleep now.
Then as i was just dozing off, i hear this sort of scratching noise. I thought it was coming from the front door, all i could think was please god, dont be someone breaking in... So i bolt to the kitchen and grab the biggest knife i could find, because if anyone was coming thru that door, i was bloody well defending myself and my baby! So armed with my knife and some strange sort of psyco confidence, i go to the front door and flick the light on...... nothing.... so i go and check the back door...... again nothing......
So i headed back down the hallway to my bedroom and the noise starts again, only this time it is coming from the bathroom, so, heart pounding, i flick on the spare bedroom light........ I peek around the corner....
And a TINY little mouse - and i mean TINY - comes bolting out of the bathroom. So here i am jumping up and down, still armed with me knife and confidence, trying not to scream coz Austins bedroom is right across from the bathroom, and this little mouse is running rampid in and out of the bathroom and toilet...
So i calmed myself down and tried to coaz him out with a piece of bread, but he wouldnt budge!!!
Damn thing scared the bejesus outta me!!! But man it would have looked funny if i had been caught on camera!

Monday - I was tired... So so so tired. Austin had been up and down all night. For what i didnt yet know! All i could think was how the hell am i going to drive all the way to Mudgee today? Still not exactly sure how i pulled it off, but i did. We got out to Dads place and said our hellos had something to eat and a bit of a chat. Well, just as i was about to head over to the other house (where we were sleeping) It started to absolutely piss down rain!! So bad in fact that i had to get a rain coat to wrap around me to cover Austin up. Just as i had covered us up, bbzzzt, the power went out. Just fabulous! Oh well i thought, this will be a long quiet night. We got everything into the little house and the fire started and i settled Austin down to sleep. I was hoping against hope that the power would come back on, because i didnt have any bottles made up for Austin for if he woke up thru the night. I went back over to Dads house and got some drinking water and put a pot on the fireplace to warm it up. Typically, Austin woke up twice thru the night, and i was just lucky that i had enough water to give him his bottles...
Tuesday - We got up and ready to go and pick up Angelique, Tyson and Cherish from Lithgow. We left at about 9.30 and the power still hadn't come back on, so i thought, i will wait til i get to Lithgow and see if i can get Austin's bottle heated up for his lunch time feed. HA, they dont do that! I had to buy a bottle of water and a cup of hot water - yes they charged me for hot water - anyway, while we waited for the train to get in, i fed Austin his lunch and he drank half of his bottle. We headed back out to Dads place. When we got there, the power was still out (this was about 2pm) so we set sleeping arrangements up and went up the hill to a friends place to fill up a thermas of hot water (she has solar power, so no blackout for her). I must have seen 6 country energy cars and trucks driving up and down the road that afternoon. They had to go to every transformer pole in the area, take down the fuses, then go back and put them up so they could figure out the problem. Just as i started to get nervous about spending another night in total darkness, how i was going to feed Austin his dinner and how we would entertain 2 kids quietly enough not to wake Austin, the power came back on *HOORAY*!!!!! We had dinner and a few drinks with Dad and Chris. Dad had to go home thou coz he was exhausted. Chris stayed and got a little tipsy LOL. It was a good night. It was great to see Dad and Chris and Angelique all in the same room. It has been about 3 years i think.
Wednesday - We woke up to SNOW!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt believe it. I knew it was cold, i had to restart the fire at 4am, but OH MY GOD!!! SNOW!!! I had never seen snow at dads, i knew it had happened before, but i had never seen it. It was very light, but beautiful and amazing all the same. We packed up our stuff and headed over to Dads place to say our goodbyes. Just as i was reversing out, i couldnt see a bloody thing coz of the cloud and mist and i reversed right into a massive pole!! Spewing! But at least everything still works. I can still close by boot and the lights all still work. But grrrr.. Anyway, we said our goodbyes and headed back to Dubbo. It is a very long trip back here - especially when you have someone sitting in the back seat saying "how many more minutes Aunty Cass??" So we got home, and had a quiet afternoon. Thank God!!
Thursday - Off we went to the Western Plains Zoo! We were the first ones thru the gate!! YAY. We had to get there early so that we could get tickets to feed the Girrafes. So we headed off around the zoo. It was FREEZING!!! I'm talking about 6deg. Angelique and i (stupidly) had both forgotten to put our jackets in the car. So we were like ice cubes til lunch time when the sun finally decided to come out! It was a great day and Austin was so well behaved, i was in shock! We got to see all the animals, some of them twice. The kids got to feed the Girrafes 3 carrots each. While Angelique was trying to get a photo of Tyson and Cherish in front of the Giraffe, it actually licked Tyson on the cheek and Cherish on the shoulder. Tyson freaked out but Cherish thought it was great!! So we spent Thursday just looking around coz the tickets are a 2 day pass, so we decided we would come back on Friday to watch the feedings and talks. When we got home on Friday we were all so tired. It was a very early night for all of us.
Friday - A considerably warmer day and Angelique and i both remembered our jackets! We went to watch the Hippo feed and talk - that was really cool. Then the otter feed and talk - Angelique loves them, i am not sure why, but she does. Then we went over to watch the Siamong Monkeys be fed. Now this was the coolest thing i have ever seen in my life! They were so funny when they were running around and playing, but then they started doing this echoing call thing they do. Their chin puffs up like a frog and it is sort of like a really deep WOOT sound. It echoed so loud. Austin loved it until i took him to the edge of the bank. Once he could see what the noise was, he wasnt so entertained! After the apes, we headed over to info centre, where we had to meet to go on a reptile ramble. The kids got to touch a blue tongue lizzard, a shingleback, a frilled neck lizzard, a thorny dragon, a childrens snake, a diamond python and a carpet snake. Austin LOVED it. He actually grabbed hold of the childrens snake and afterwards i watched the keeper pat the snakes scales back down - oops - LOL ... We headed back home after this and waited for Shannon to get home.
Saturday - We went to the Old Dubbo Gaol. I found it interesting to see that a man who failed to provide food for his children got 6 months hard labour, but a man who stole some sheep got 3 years gaol!. But a woman who failed to provide food for her children got 5 years in gaol and a woman who stole (something) got 1 year hard labour. We went and had some lunch after the gaol and dropped Angelique, Tyson and Cherish off to the train station. I was sad to see them go, i had had such a great week. but i was very happy to think i wouldnt have to get in the bloody car again for a while!!!
Sunday - My baby took his very first steps!!! He had been playing belly flops on daddy all day, which sort of goes stand up, arms up in the air, then throw yourself on daddy LOL. Then His Aunty Melissa and April came over and he just stood there for a second and the took 3 steps to get a toy! The about half hour later he took another 2 steps!!!! I am so so so proud of my baby! But man im going to be busy now!! LOL
OK that is it from me. Unfortunately i couldnt upload the pics on to minti because they are too big in size, but here is a link to view them online for anyone who wants to see them.
What a week!!
Have a great week!!!!

Isnt it typical that when you know you have something coming up, you get sick. Austin and i are both sick. It is aweful. My poor little man has a nose that is running like a leaking tap. He is coughing and sneezing, and there seems to be nothing i can do to help. At least he isnt whingy when he is sick.. YET! His voice even sounds different. I dont know if there is even anything you can give babies for sore throats? Any suggestions would be helpful!
After my lasy blog about him not sleeping, i have given him only food that i have made myself and the past 2 nights, he has slept all the way thru again (even being sick) so i am going to assume that it was the tuna mornay that i gave him and stear clear of that one for a while. I guess it just gave him a tummy ache.
I was hoping for a nice day today. But it seems that it is not going to happen. It is overcast here, although it isnt very cold. Still, i wanted to go for a walk today, and now the weather is yuck, i doubt i will. I dont want to risk making Austin any worse. Or me for that matter.
OK im dribbling now, hope you all have a great day.
