A bit of background info for perspective......I had been married for 10 years to an alcoholic who never even sat in the same room with me and the kids for the last 4 of those years.
Then went from the frying pan into the fire. In DV relationship for 5 years
Yes, it was a shit time relationship wise. I could really pick 'em. Needless to say, these relationships had no romance at all, ever. The first one was to drunk to go anywhere and the second, well, you could imagine. Not trying to whinge- this was just how it was.
Third time lucky. I met someone who treated me so well i thought it was too good to be true. Was this man for real? He met me when i had a 3 month old baby plus the other 2 girls, knew what i'd just been through and said to his face that all men were scumbags.
But he didn't give up. We became friends.
One day i was so tired i just had to have a sleep. "no worries" he said, "i'll look after the kids for a while".
When i woke up, he and the kids had cleaned the entire place from top to bottom. It was emaculate(sp). Not only that, due to my situation, i had lost most of my furniture and stuff. He had bought a new TV stand and bookshelves for the girls, and a computer table!!!!! WOW. I couldn't believe it!!!!
No one had ever done anything like this in my entire life. Heck, I didn't even know it was possible. My surprise was total.
Yes, we are together and waiting for the arrival of the twins. He makes me feel very special, nothing is a problem between us. I never thought i could have a decent relationship but i was wrong. I do.
Sorry if this isn't all flowery and soppy but thats just not me.
DA, its your turn next!

Re: The love story blog
haha i thought that was flowery and soppy.. but good flowery and good soppy :) lol
wow, i never realised you'd been through so much...
i'd read your first article but still, reading this, makes me so much more proud of you :)
you soo deserve to have a man that treats you like you should be treated...
and Shane sounds like he is DEFINITELY it :)
the thing i've learnt is, we meet a lot of people in our life...
and just because things don't work out, doesn't mean we weren't supposed to learn things from them...
everything in your life happened or a reason, but now Shane's reason for entering your world is because he is The One for you, the one who will make you whole again and probably already has :)
just remember that you ARE special, and that you DO deserve happiness...
because i am sure that Shane feels exactly this way about you :)
Awww Cath.. if only you were here, I would give you a BIG BIG hug :) hehe
I'm so proud of how far you've come, I'm so happy to call you my friend :)
Anywho, I better go..
Sorry for the ramble. lol
*hugs*
Love Thuy xox
