We are Canadians living it up for the time being in California. My husband works for a University down here .
I am a stay at home mom to one beautiful, adventurous toddler. My daughter and I go on some crazy adventures, exploring our local sites and playgroups! I also just discovered we are expecting again! After suffering a terrible miscarriage last year, I am totally freaked out, but trying to enjoy every moment!

To Do

This post is from from my other blog here

I was feeling weighed down.

I hate that feeling.

I have a to do list that is way too long. I am rarely if ever getting anything scratched off my list and I was getting frustrated.

I am trying to do too much. Yet nothing seems optional, like not important enough to be done. All of it has importance. Hence why it is on my to do list.

This week I have finally got to the point that I can scratch things off the list.

All too often I get so wrapped up in the to do, that I totally get overwhelmed. Need to take it down a notch. I so always get, “How do you do it all? Don’t you sleep?” and yet so often I do not see it that way.

I am trying to get used to working from home (Work at Home Moms are goddesses). I cannot imagine doing it full time. I would be absolutely stressed out. Yet it is all coming together now.

Welcome to my A Pink October theme (be it two days late), in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month, for all those affected by Breast Cancer and all cancers … Take care of yourselves, you are loved and needed.

Over the weekend Becca attended her first pre-Ballet class. As always she had her head in the clouds, prancing about barely listening to the teacher at all. However, these classes are not intended for hard core discipline, or commitment to the craft. Instead I just want her to have fun with some children her age. She already has a “best” friend in the class and absolutely LOVED dressing for the occasion.

She is such an unfocused child, never really committing to anything to an extreme. Never was she obsessed with a character, at times she will want to watch the same movie over & over again, however that is usually short lived. I witness other children insisting on certain clothes, shows, toys, whereas Becca not so much. She reminds me of the way Belle is portrayed in Beauty and the Beast, nose always in a book or head swimming with stories and fantasy. I am never sure when I should bring her down to reality or if I should ever. I want her to be creative, free to explore, yet want her to know the difference between the two.

Ethan has really been suffering with this cold and teething. He is not sleeping well (which means no one is sleeping well), he is perpetually cranky and in need of attention and distraction. He is an exhausting little being to be around. I was so thankful that J recognized all of this and stayed home to help me (aka parent while I slept most of the day). I am so grateful he is so in tune to his family.

We have a busy week, then we are preparing for a two visit from Grandpa!!!!! I had hoped to have sewn Becca’s costume for Halloween before my Dad arrived, however that is looking to be less likely every minute that ticks by.

We weathered our Hurricane Kyle. It was blustery and rainy last night, then just as J was taking Becca back to bed after a potty trip …. poof … we lost power. Becca was completely spooked and spent the rest of the night hogging the covers with me, while J slept on the couch! The power returned early in the morning, and everyone slept past due!

How was your weekend?

We are Out

ugh. All of us.

Sick. Nasty cold.

I spent the day in bed. Sleeping until one cried out, then kinda assisting in parenting.

My daughter cannot breath through her nose.

The boy is hot and miserable (and teething).

The husband is sick. Did not even make it to work today (in part for me, he is my hero)

I catch you later, I am heading back to bed as soon as I get my booger-fiends to bed.

Big plans for the weekend that doesn’t include snuggling a kleenex box?
