Oh No!...not again!! Another life lost...

Comment Published at 01:3301:334 comments4 comments76 Visits76 VisitsReport

Damn it! Why???? I dont know the details, but I sit reliving the horrible memory of little Leo's drowning, this time with a 10 month old girl being pushed along the SAME path on the SAME river in Adelaide...the bloody Torrens. And another 3 wheeled stroller. Grandma was the poor lady to be pushing the little one, probably looking after bubs whilst Mum had to work, or get some much needed sleep. Grandma ran to the river, tried to drag the pusher out, collapsed, and a passerby dragged her and the stroller from the river. The police came, tried to revive bubby, took to hospital, now it is believed she is GONE...another life lost.

Councils, recognise the need for embankement barriers or some damn thing, before it happens AGAIN!

That is terrible!  I was reading your article on the other tragedy, but something really needs to be done now!  If they want to solve the problem and keep the asthetics of the lake, they need to have bouncy barriers that are knee high and still easy to get over, but if a pram rolls into them, will hold them out of the water.

That's absurd. Howmany more times will this happen before they put a guard rail of some sort up? Wouldn't even have to be a very big one, just something to stop things rolling or falling into the water.

But oh no! That would destroy the asthetic appeal of the river! Damn councils!

yes that was really sad, and it makes u wonder if those sort of prams are safe, and also why the council cant put proper fencing around..

The poor lady has to live with that forever....
